CARLSON, Cliff Edward

Cliff Edward Carlson, 44 of Rockville, formerly of Manchester, son of Frederick C. Carlson of Manchester and the late Gail M. (Paige) Carlson, died Friday, (August 5, 2011) at his residence. Cliff was born and raised in Manchester, graduating from Manchester High School, Class of 1985, attended Manchester Community College, U-Conn, and Central CT. State Univ., and had been employed with AT&T for the past fifteen years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Manchester and Ellington. Cliff was an avid Red Sox fan, a proud ham radio operator, a member of the Manchester Bears Club, and was a former hang glider enthusiast and Mason. With his father, he is survived by three sons, Alexander, Kenneth, and Bradley Carlson and their mother Dawn (Magowan) Carlson, all of Manchester; his sister and brother-in-law, Theresa M. and Jay M. Asikainen of Portland, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held Friday, (August 12, 2011) at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 30 Woodside Street, Manchester. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Private burial will be in the East Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carlson Children Education Fund, c/o First Niagara Bank, 220 North Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042.
