Doug, Your ancestor Henry Troland was the brother of my great-great grandfather, whose name was William. There were 7 children in this family and they all except one, John, emigrated to Norwich,CT with their parents Jack Troland and Margaret Wilson, from Ballymoney District of Ireland. I have not figured out when they arrived in Norwich. Jack Troland was the son of James Trolan and Janet Hart. I have an incredible family tree that my father got from the library of congress. I have been putting all of the information from this tree onto my Family Tree Maker program. I would love to put it onto the World Family Tree but frankly just haven't had the nerve or knowhow. If you e-mail, I will have your address if I should make any further discoveries. Oh, also Annie had a brother Daniel Henry b. Oct. 29, 1887 according to this tree.
Thanks for responding.

Anna R. Troland

I too have an interest in tracing back my family lines. My father 1904-1995 was Douglas M. Trolan. His father was William Christian Trolan. My father had [4] siblings - William, John, Eleanor and Ida. I have yet to go thru all my mother and father's papers to see what else I can find. If you have any info I would appreciate a copy. I will also check the LOC to see what you found there.

Hi Doug

Did you manage to tie your family into the tree information that Judy provided?

Ken,

Yes, Judy's information was very helpful and did provide a match. My g-grandmother, Anna R. Troland, as well as her father, Henry L. Troland, were both mentioned in the family tree Judy provided. Overall, the tree contained a treasure trove of Troland family history. Are you related to this line as well?

Doug

I came accross William Trolland who married Margaret McClure on 24/07/1854 at !st Kilraughts presbyterian church. He was the son of John Trolland from Dunaghy who was a weaver . She was the daughter of William McClure of Lisboy /Kilraughts a farmer.William McClure was my great great grandfather. I dont know whether the dunaghy mentioned is the one close to Ballymoney town or whether it is the parish of Dunaghy.
