Back in the 1950's and 60's too I think there was a house on Blackpoint Rd in Niantic Ct, that belonged to my grandmother sister and her family. The surname was Jutila
and as I never met her husband, I think his name was Onnie?
There was a son living with her. My grandmother, sister and I visited there a few time. I remeber it was on the side of the street, where the trains to NY passed by. an there was a curve in the road, and a bridge to pass under not far from her house. It was an older house, with a front porch. For some reason I want to say it was at either 32 or 62 Black Point Rd,(but I'm really not sure).

Later, I think they sold it, and built a ranch style home on the adjoining lot. That house had an in-law apt on the right as you faced the hous. There was no garage at the time. Today it may be owned by my grandmother 's sister's grandaughter(Connie) and her family, but again I'm not sure.
Fred Jutila had married Irene ? . They are both deceased now.

I'm telling you all this, because what I'm hoping is someone that lives in the Niantic area, and has old directories, or access to them could find out the address(it could be 64 Black Point Rd as well) and maybe just maybe someday when your out and about take a few pictures of both of those homes(if indeed they are still there)
I don't want anyone to go out of their way to do this, but, if your going to the beach someday, you may pass that way.
I remember it was only a few min walk to the beach. Sometimes back then we crossed the train tracks, but I don't think you can do that anylongeer.

Sorry to ramble on like this, and don't worry about it if you can';t do it, its just that I thought it would be a nice added touch for my Finnish gemealogy.

My grandmothers name was Sylvia Maria Piispanen Nelson.
Until she came to live with us she had spent her entire life after immigrating from Finland in West Quincy Ma.
She came to US with her sister Impi(who owned that house i was talking about)

Thanks again
Barbara
