In Lester Warren’s “The Fish Family in England and America” on page 277 he has the following to say about Capt. Moses Fish:
"Capt. Moses Fish, Colonial veteran, son of Moses and Martha (Williams) Fish, was b. at Groton, Conn., Oct. 20, 1714; was m. to Elizabeth Morgan, Nov 7, 1745, by Rev. Mr. Crosswell. …He was a Captain in the Colonial Militia and was one of those given land at Voluntown for his military service."
Does anyone know of other records to substantiate this Moses Fish being a Colonial Veteran and receiving land in Voluntown?
Thanks. Jim.
