Hello and good day folks. My husband descends from the Granniss family of East Have/Fair Haven, specifically, Joseph Granniss (1791-1876) and Louise Luddington (1794-1859). Their one son Willard S died 5/28/1850 in Brownsville, Tx, which is at the very extreme bottom of the entire state of Texas at the border of Mexico. I'm wondering why he was there? Genealogy bank doesn't have New Haven newspapers from that timeframe. Could someone with local access try to find out if there are any articles that might mention his death? Also, five months later, on Oct 4, 1850, Willard's siblings, Harriett and Hezekiah lost their lives on a steamship that was bound for Savannah. While i can find articles on the accident, again, i can't get access to the local NH papers. Would someone be willing to look for an article that is more personal?

Thank you in advance.
