At a recent family funeral, I learned that my great grandparents owned some sort of store (believed to be a grocery store) in Torrington,CT.
This would have been before 1945, which is when he died. The family then relocated to NYC. (Prior to Torrington, they lived in PA). I'm guessing the 1930's would be around when they owned the store.
His name was Antonio Sica. Wife was Maria (Comforti) Sica.
They had about 7 or 8 children.
Unfortunately I don't have much more information yet... I'm looking for any information or records on the store - anything at all. If anyone knows where I might find some info online, that would be helpful too. I tried some of the town websites and historical societies, no luck yet.
The next thing that I can think of would be to drive up to Torrington some day and try the library.
