After getting the docket file# from Ancestry.com I wrote to the U.S. National Archives & Records Admistration with a Form 85A and a money order for $40.00. You can also go on-line now http://www.archives.gov/. It has been about four years since I did it.Yes, this was for a Union Solder.
What a find! I had to sit down with a cup of tea to read through it. Took about an hour. He fought for ten years to get his pension that his Lawyer was pocketing (probably because he couldn't read)! The U.S. Government finally pressed charges agaist the Lawyer and got him his money. Hope this helps, Sharen
