Sounds like Wayne & I are "Cousins". FYI, my information says Charles Wheeler's spouse was Mary Fought Wheeler. I have done more on the Wheeler's since the 2010 post you answered. I still have not identified with any certainty which John Wheeler was in the war of 1812, but do have quite a bit more on the rest of the family. I'm heading back to Ohio again in March for more research. While Charles was born in Bridgeport, the family seems to be located farther inland and Charles' father, John, was in New Jersey between Charles birth in Bridgeport in 1827 and coming out to Ohio in around 1832. Charles mother, Mary, may have died before coming to Ohio. I've found no record of her in Ohio and he died in 1836. Dennis Sears.
