My James Bradley was the son of William Bradley and Elizabeth Chidsey, born in East Haven in June 1726. He and his wife Sarah moved to the Parish of Ripton (Stratford, Huntington, Shelton) about 1760 They had a son Elisha and a daughter Rhoda born earlier in the part of Derby that became Oxford. Their children Joseph, Sarah, Hepzibah, Joanna and Rebeckah were born while they lived at Stratford (Ripton). There may have been two other children. Rebeckah was baptised at the Huntington Congreagtional Church in 1775. The family went to Harwinton about 1777 because of the destruction of James business (shipping, I think) by the war.
