Does anyone have any information on Theodore Schallehn/Schallon living in Fairfield, Ct. in 1870's or earlier? My great-grandfather was born in Danbury, Ct. in 1864/65. His father was also named Theodore and came from Connecticut, date of birth about 1833 and I have found a Theodore Schallehn/Schallon born 1815 and listed in the 1870 census for Fairfield, Connecticut. My great-grandfather came to Saratoga, New York at age of about 5 years old.

Hi
I am researching my Schallon/Schallom line and wonder whether your ancestors came from Bohemia. My forebears came from the many small villages near Merklin, Bohemia (now Czech Republic)
Please feel free to contact me

Stephen, I have no idea where my Schallehn family came from. I only know that they were in Fairfield, Ct. at one point but the census spelt the name Schallon instead of Schallehn. I can't even find out when they arrived in the United States. Wish I had more info. Good luck in your hunting.
