Thanks for the help.I was told that they are Towns rather than Townships. We call them Townships here so thought that was what Conn. called them also.
I was confused about Stratfield also . I found in church records reference to someone being 'of Stratfield'. I thought it might have been a mistake, I found no Stratfield on an old Conn map.
I looked in Hagstrom's Atlas and found a Stratfield in the Town of Fairfield just west of the Bridgeport line and south of the Merritt Parkway.
My ancestors were all Fairfield (Town) and I have many references to Stratfield, Greenfield Hill and Fairfield. Since these are all very near each other it's reasonable that the family members were located in all of them.
