I am looking for the unabridged version of Titus Mead's account of the shooting of Timothy Knapp Jr. I have very good reason to believe the sister of Timothy is my ansester. The Knapp tree is fuzzy and confused at this point. This is most likely because there were multiple Timothy Knapps in the same town with children with the same names. I am starting to research this part of the tree. I have a page from the Nicholas Knapp Genealogy p 49 that briefly tells of the account. It states that there are details of the Knap family. It also states that although most of the Knapps were thought highly of the family of Timothy Knapp Jr. was 'among the most inveterate Tories was a family named Knapp'. I noticed a newer version of the Knapp family tree has a Yankee soldier. Our version matches the earlier version where the father is the true villan and is the arch Tory of the town. In fact probably after the shooting that Thimothy Knapp was sent to Simsbury Mine (later called New Gate Prison). I have an original fist hand account of the Knapp family hiding in terror as the 'wags' from town showed up showed up to do them some harm. The 'wags' setteled for breaking into the barn and cleaning them out. The pair of prize oxen was the biggest loss. This is not a story of a family headed by a patriot. This is the story of a foolish, prideful family that did not know when to keep their mouth shut and paid the price for it. When the war was over he was so broken by the out come and his prison stay, he never sued for damages like the Mesnards.

If anyone has a Mesnard from this area and this era other than Mrs Edmond Banks I would be interested in knowing of them. I hope I have most if not all accounted for. I am missing an unnamed sister to Mrs. Edmond Banks from the family tree.
