Michael J. O'Brien, 68, of 38 Arcadia street, Stratford, a retired employee of the General Electric company and a member of the special police of Stratford, died today in his home.
Services will take place Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in the William R. McDonald funeral home, 2581 Main street, Stratford and at 9 o'clock in St. James church, Stratford, of which he was a communicant. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery.
A native of Fall River, Mass., Mr. O'Brien had resided in the Bridgeport area more than 40 years. He was a foreman 36 years in the wiring department of General Electric company. Since his retirement three years ago, he has served with the special police of Stratford. He served in the Army from 1910 to 1914.
He was a member of St. James council, K of C, of Stratford; Holy Name society and of Council of Catholic Men.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Beyer O'Brien, and a son, Edward O'Brien of Stratford; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Bono of Trumbull and Mrs. Robert Kelley of East Hartford; 11 grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Raymond O'Brien of Bridgeport; a brother William O'Brien and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bond of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews.
