The following is for my great-grandfather, Edward Martin Walsh, husband of Margaret Kennedy and a son of Martin Walsh & Mary Ryan. He was also a grandson of Thomas & Ann Walsh and Thomas Ryan & Margaret Slattery Ryan and a great-grandson of Edward Slattery.

Edward Walsh was born in Bridgeport CT on May 11, 1873. Edward died in the TB sanitorium in Newington CT on March 3, 1921.

Edward M. Walsh

Edward M. Walsh, 46 of 83 McKinley avenue, died yesterday. He was a core maker employed by the Crane Company for many years. His wife, nine children, one sister, Mrs. Philip Carroll, of this city, and one brother, Thomas Walsh of Albany, N.Y., survive him. The funeral will be held at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning from his home, and at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery.

Edward Walsh

The funeral of Edward M. Walsh was this morning at 8:30 o'clock from his late home, No. 83 McKinley avenue and half an hour later a mass of requiem was celebrated in St. Patrick's church by Rev. J.C. Lynch. At the offertory Mrs. Robert Campbell sang "Ave Maria" and after mass she rendered "Some Sweet Day". As the body was borne from the church, "Nearer, My God, to Thee" was played on the chimes. The pall bearers were Thomas Horohan, Thomas Sheridan, William Cooney, Frank Dunford, Joseph Flynn and William Kearns. Burial was in St. Michael's cemetery.
