Classification: Query
Surnames: WARBURTON, O'BRIEN
I am hoping that someone can help me find part of my family. My great-grandmother, Margaret WARBURTON was born on Aug. 12, 1888 to John & ? WARBURTON in Brookfield CT. At some point, before Feb. 14, 1909, she married my great-grandfather, John O'BRIEN, probably in Danbury CT. On Feb. 14, 1909, Margaret WARBURTON gave birth to my grandfather, John Martin O'BRIEN in Danbury CT. Margaret WARBURTON died on November 11, 1922, when my grandfather was young. At the time of Margaret's death, my great-grandparents & grandfather were living at 94 Bunnell Street in Bridgeport CT.

According to Margaret's obit, the funeral procession started from the home of John Sr.'s brother, Michael J. O'BRIEN at 394 Windsor Avenue; Stratford, CT. The obit stated that besides leaving her husband and son, she also left three sisters -- Mrs. Watson Cummings and Mrs. Lyman Warner of Danbury, and Mrs. Frank Gorman of Bridgeport, and a brother, John Warburton of Danbury.

Today, while searching for obituaries for people with the WARBURTON name, there was one that struck me that it might be for a member of the WARBURTON family I am seeking. James E. Warburton formerly of Danbury CT, was born in Danbury CT on June 17, 1920 to Hugh A. & Margaret D. SMITH and was adopted by John & Anastasia WARBURTON.

Could James WARBURTON's father, John WARBURTON be the brother John WARBURTON that was mentioned in Margaret WARBURTON's obituary? James E. WARBURTON was a schoolteacher in Fairfield County. He was also an acting superintendant of Brookfield, CT's schools. Brookfield is where my great-grandmother Margaret was born. James E. WARBURTON died on Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999 in Denton TX. James' late wife's name was Evelyn JONES WARBURTON, to whom he was married for 51 years. James left three daughters & a sister Mary.

James WARBURTON was also Roman Catholic according to his obit -- another clue that he is linked to my Margaret WARBURTON, as she was Roman Catholic, too. Most of the Warburtons I've come across have NOT been Catholic. Sorry this is so long, but does this sound like anyone's family? I tried doing a telephone directory search on the internet for James' daughters and sister, but came up empty on all counts. One daughter lives in FL, another in MN and the other lives in TX. James' sister lives in California.

Thanks for all your help.
