Searching for descendents of Fairfield LYON families who may have migrated south to Maryland, Virginia, or North Carolina. Robert LYON died in Caswell County, NC, in 1804, leaving a daughter who married into the MIDDLEBROOK family (from Fairfield) and a son with the middle name of WHITLOCK. This family may have come from Caroline Co, VA, where several children married PICKETTs. There are indications that the LYON and MIDDLEBROOK families migrated together from Fairfield for several generations, intermarrying at least three times. I would greatly appreciate hearing from ANY LYON folks who may have moved south from Fairfield in the early to mid-1700s.
