Just saw this message. I have all of these same names & dates in our HEFFERNAN tree.

Thomas J. HEFFERNAN b.1841 d.1910 was 1st married to Margaret AHEARN b.1841 d.1877 in Chicopee, MA. She died the year before Thomas married Julia SULLIVAN in Springfield, MA. I found some vital MA records with both their marriages recorded & lots of Thomas' childrens' births recorded.

I am a descendant of Thomas J & Margaret (Ahearn) Heffernan. They are my 3rd great grandparents. Thomas' brother is Cornelius b. 1831 d.1908. Both brothers were in Fitch's Home for Soldiers & both are buried next to each other (I have personal photos of their gravestones with both their military details). Thomas' military details on his grave say: Co. B 1 H.A. Conn Vols.

I have a photo of Thomas with his 2nd wife, Julia. And a photo of Julia's gravestone.

Our family stories & records say & show that Thomas had 12 children total: 5 children with Margaret before her death then 7 children with Julia. Julia (Sullivan) Heffernan is important in our tree as she raised all of Margaret's young children (who were all under the age of 10 years when Margaret died).

I have mostly found HEFFERNAN & HEFFERMAN. And I found Thomas' parents names: John Heffernan & Catherine BOURKE both of Ireland. And this is where I am stuck. Need more clues to Thomas's parents and Thomas' siblings (I only have him with 4 brothers: Corneluis, Michael, James & John). Did Thomas have any sisters and any other brother?
