What about this?
In the 1930 Federal Census for Colorado, how many family's had both parents born in Spain?
How many worked in the concrete and bakery business?
Do you believe the siblings were born before your mom?
Out of all this were there any Archuleta's?
I know all this hinges on them living in CO for the Feral Census.
Wish you well and Good Hunting,
Frank
be glad to respond and/or assist.

can you verify that address (there are 2 14th, one east west, the other nw-se)? (one designated avenue, the other as street). based on the number 1151, the dwelling would be 11 blocks east or west of the main N-S street Broadway. if on the diagonal street, about the intersection of 14th and lawrence, next to the historic larimer square historical district, near Cherry Creek, not likely a single dwelling, but possible.

how did you get the address? any other info?

do you know if they were in 1900 census?

there are generally two types of directories, a city directory listed people and businesses by alpha/name. the householders indexes are by address. the latter however only start in 1924 (hard copy); some are on the DPL website. the city directories are on ancestry.com, the DPL website, and on microfilm at DPL for most years.

if you can contact me directly, i may be able to help.

paul daraghy
parker, colorado
former Volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness; see www.raogk.org
email: daraghy@gmail.com

Curious! However, we might be seeking Rose M. Lindley from at least 1930 onward.

Rose's marriage license 06 July 1906 says she will turn 18 on 09 December 1906, that her parents are deceased, that she has no legally appointed guardian, and that none of her relatives objects to her marriage. She and Henry both give current residence as Rocky Ford, Otero County, Colorado. (Information about Rose's early life may not help researchers in the forum find Rose in later life - but you never know, so I hope it's okay I'm posting this.)

We need birth record for Rose's son Robert, or a document in which his parents are named, to know if we're finding the right Robert. Also note another Rose M. Farrell was born later and lived in Denver.

1880 US Census
Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana <----Rose location 1900
Drury J. Hodges 36 Grocery Store
Margaret A. Hodges 36
Will L. Hodges 2
Kate Anderson 17
John Stephensen 23
Frank Woodard 26

1900 census in Bloomington, Indiana Rose Putman is living with the Maggie Hodges. An Ancestry.com user has suggested Rose is not a stepdaughter but rather an adopted daughter. Her marriage license suggests she was neither.

The Hodges family apparently moves to Colorado:

Pueblo, Colorado, City Directory, 1906 (attached)
Name: Drury Hodges
Gender: M (Male)
Spouse: Margaret Hodges

Also appears in 1905 directory

I also just found a record on familysearch.org that lists the following information. It appears that this Robert Farrell could very well be Rose's son. Could give you a lead on his wife or children.

British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1986
Name: Robert George Farrell
Event Type: Death
Event Date: 19 Sep 1970
Event Place: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Gender: Male
Age: 62
Marital Status: Married
Birth Date: 18 Jul 1908
Birthplace: Denver, Colorado
Father's Name:	Farrell
Mother's Name:
Spouse's Name:	Kathleen Teresa Bell
Tribe or Clan:
Affiliate Film Number: B13305
GS Film number: 2034213
Digital Folder Number: 004479313
Image Number: 02238
Registration Number: 70 09 012513

Still looking?

The 1910 census will help straighten out the years of birth:

1910
Longmont, Boulder, Colorado
Henry O Farrell 27 b ca 1883 in Illinois, buttermilk peddler
Rose Farrell 21 born about 1889 in Indiana
Robert Farrell age 1 year 6 months born in Colorado

Did the marriage license state the names of their parents, or do you know the names of their parents through another source? The parents' names may/should appear on a death certificate, making it possible to correctly identify Rose if she remarried, or Henry, whose name is similar to a number of other people his age.

Interesting obit. Helps a lot. We would have expected to see Alvin's half brother Robert mentioned, and learn his whereabouts.

Robert might have led us to Rose Putman Farrell, the person we are hunting for.

Rose Putman was born in Monroe County, Indiana, per other posts of TCRAIL. The Rose Putman age 10 in 1900 in Monroe County, Indiana is probably the right Rose. Would someone post that record? What month and year does it say she was born? That census makes it seem that Rose's estimated birth year of 1889 is correct.

TCRAIL, You wrote that you have Rose's marriage license dated 05 July 1906. She was age 17 = born about 1889. But does it give an exact day/month/year of birth?

Trying to see if that death record you found with a December birth date matches. The year is off - but that could be a mistake by informant.

In that case, this is indeed Henry in Oklahoma in 1940:

1940
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma
Henry O Farrell	56 b abt 1884 Illinois, bricklayer, contractor
Effie I Farrell	39 b abt 1901 Oklahoma
Jim R Farrell	18 son born in Texas
Alvin E Farrell	16 son born in Colorado
Homer Ward	56 lodger
Avis Ward	43 lodger

Find a Grave
Henry Owen Farrell
Birth: Mar. 8, 1883
Death: Jun. 5, 1953
Burial Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City
Alvin also buried here; died 1992

Your main interest is finding Rose...at least now we know she is not with Henry.

Rose Putman age 10 in 1900 in Monroe County, Indiana is probably your Rose, since your Rose was born in Monroe County. Would someone post that record? What month and year does it say she was born? That census makes it seem that her birth year of 1889 is correct.

The Rose Farrell born 1885 (the death record mentioned) seems born too early - but of course it could be an error on the death cert.

Colorado it gives Henry O Farrell age 27 born in Illinois and Rose [Putman]Farrell age 21 born in Indiana and Robert, son, age 1 yr and 6 months born in Colorado. They were living on Pratt Street.
I also found a Robert E. Farrell born 1909 enlisted in WWII in Feb. 18, 1942 in California. I was hoping this was him.
Also found a SS Death for Rose Farrell born Dec 9, 1885 and died October 1978; last residence Shawneee Mission, Johnson, Kansas, USA; issued in Kansas 1973
Another thing was the 1930 census Hor Henry O.
Mr. Traxler, I just now found your message regarding Phyllis Cheeseman. Her mother was a step-sister to my husbands mother from Helena, Montana. I would really love to know what happened to Francis and also Phyllis. Would love to be in touch. Hope this finds you well. Marilynn Driver.

Mary M Boitz married Matthew Franz. I believe this is the one mentioned in the earliest post from Susan Boitz. Their son Mickey married into my family to Teresa Simsich. They had one child, Karl Franz. All are deceased. Karl has two living daughters that I believe are still living in Pueblo. I spoke to one after Teresa died in 1999. She was staying in Mickey and Teresa's farmhouse on Baxter Road in Avondale. Teresa was my GGM's cousin.

Thanks.
Yes, fairly certain that she was indeed born about 1890.
The 1920, 1930, 1940 census all ones which I know to be the correct Thyrza S. Becker list her as being born around 1890 and born in Nebraska. Those are all consistent.

Before she married Samuel Colin Becker - I can't find her.

The Katherine Becker that Samuel Colin Becker was married to in 1910 was also born around 1890 - which led me to think perhaps this was actually Thyrza as well and just the first name had changed.

I will look into the Thyrza Sherman you note here and see if I can find any connections.

1910 census reference is attached.

Thanks again.

You first said you are seeking ancestry for Thyrza Sherman born about 1890 in Nebraska, married Henry Clay Becker.

Are you saying Henry was a mistake? "Your" Thyrza married Samuel Colin Becker? It may be worth mentioning that he went by "S. Colin Becker" in Denver city directories (if that is the same person you mean).

How do you know Thyrza's maiden name was Sherman? Is that family knowledge, or some other source?
Thank you, thank you for asking for the clarification. Yes, that was miswritten.
Thyrza Sherman Becker actually married Samuel Colin Becker (b:1884-d:1962) -- I'm mostly concerned about finding any information about Thyrza pre-1920 or a death certificate or something to help me trace her ancestry.

Samuel Colin Becker is found in Denver in 1910 married to someone named Kathrine Becker - so I started to think maybe Thyrza changed her first name at some point (what I meant by her changing her name). By 1920 he is living in Los Angeles married to Thyrza.
Please let me know if I can provide more information. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for checking on this. Do you know if there is a particular additional way to see if there was ever any marriage of Samuel Colin Becker to anyone in Colorado or California? Perhaps Thyrza changed her name?
I can't find any marriage records on ancestry.com for him at all. But, thought maybe there is some other connection.
Thanks again for your help!
