Hello; You can request a copy of the application for Social Security which Charles filled out when he applied for an SSN when that program started in the 1930's. It will include information about his parents. You can go through the Rootsweb SSDI website at http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ and search for the SSN 506-03-0182 which was Charles' Social Security number. Then you will see an "order record" button beside Charles' record. You can also use this site to write an SS-5 letter requesting the copy, and send it directly to the Social Security Administration.
