I have a photo of a Casper R. Hartman on the front of a program/dance card. It is for the Fourth Annual Ball of the Veteran Volunteer Firemen's Association for November 19, 1899. The picture is of a man who I believe is the second son of Casper Hartman and Deborah Carr. The picture is of a man who appears to be in his late 50's or in his 60's. In the lower right-hand corner of the picture appears the name Reistle, who may have been the photographer.

I haven't been able to find descendants of Casper R. My husband's line is through one of his younger brothers, Lorenzo Dow Hartman. Other siblings include Thomas, James, Marvin, unknown female, Pierce,(died as infant) Lewis W. and Sarah C. I know that Lewis W. married a Mary Elizabeth Rhodes and that Sarah C. married a Foote.

I don't know where this was taken, or where Casper R. was from, but he might have been from Vandalia, Fayette Cty. IL. There are also Hartman family members in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio, and orginated in PA.
