Surnames: Shaw, Boone, Pratt, Standley, Mitchell
In 1887, Scottish immigrants David and Margaret (Mitchell) Shaw and their three sons, John Shepherd, David Mitchell, and Alexander, arrived in what was then Arapahoe County from Perthshire, Scotland. They homesteaded in Kirk (later Joes) Colorado. All three sons married and became naturalized citizens. John S. married Florence Pratt in 1894, David M. married Florence Harriet Standley in 1896, and Alexander married Elsie E. Boone in 1902.
