RITES TODAY FOR ELMER FELDERMAN

Elmer E. Felderman, a lifetime resident of the Wages community, passed away Sunday at his home. Although he had not been in the best of health he was able to be up and had attended the open house that afternoon at the George Wengert home.

He was born September 16, 1893 in the LeRoy community southwest of Haxtun to Mr. and Mrs. John FELDERMAN. When a small boy the family moved to the Wages community where he had since lived. He was inducted into the army of World War I in 1917 and returned to farming in the Wages community following his discharge.

He was married to Miss Lora May Friend on September 5, 1922 in Denver.

He is survived by his wife, Lora, and a son Keith and his wife Jeraldine of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, Theodore of Haxtun and his aged mother, Mrs. Mary FELDERMAN who resides at the Haxtun Nursing home. Also three grandchildren, Curtis Dean of Newport News, Virginia, Scott D. and Rod L. of Honolulu.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Dewey, and a sister, Elsie Iverson.

Funeral service was held today (Wednesday) at 2:00 o’clock from the First Methodist church at Yuma. Rev. Erwin A. Keil and Rev. John Westerberg officiated at the service.

Mrs. Darlene Perienfein was organist and accompanied Mrs. Alberta Sprague and Leander Imhof who sang “Beyond The sunset” and “Just a Closer Walk With Thee.”

Bearers were Louis Brazelton, Curtis Franson, Carl Korf, Vernon Myers, Larry Korf and Fred Hillman.

Honorary bearers were Frank Tunde, Bill Korf, Elgin Salvador, Clay Chamblin, Richard Salvador and Cecil Salvador.

Burial was in the Yuma cemetery with the Thompson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
