Holmes D. Thompson is in Sunnyside sec MN, Block KP, Row 003 Plot 016. He was a Private in Company C, 115th Engineers and died on Nov 29, 1923. Can anyone give me informaiton and possilbly do a look up for an obituary from the local paper.
I found a referance to a Thompson Mine. I am also looking for Holmes' brothers Frank Thompson dob c. 1889 and Tom Thompson dob c 1891. All were from England (Eremont in Comberland) all were minors and would have filed for naturalization. All would have come to America between c. 1905 and 1923.

The State Archives has information on the mines. The website with info on how to ask for reports for specific mines is http://www.archives.state.co.us/hmrfi/home.htm

I also checked the CD sold by the Pikes Peak Genealogical Society (http://home.att.net/~lvixie/graves.htm) for Holmes D. Thompson. He's listed with the info you give in the Sunnyside Cemetary in Victor, but he's also listed under miners' deaths. There his date of death is given as 11/29/21 and says he died in Goldfield, CO.

Holmes Dixon Thompson was my grandfather. He and Mary Francis Curnow had a son, Robert Daniel Thompson (my father) who was born in Goldfield, Colorado in 1920. I have a copy of Holmes obituary from Egremont, Cumberland. I would be very intersted in your connection to the family and to the information you may have on the other Thompson boys who came to the states.
