Classification: Query
Surnames: Sturgill, George
Would like to find out the mining accidents that took place in Victor Co in 1914 and another accident was in 1916. What was the name of the mines and who were the miners that died.
James Elijah Sturgill died at age of 36 in Victor in 1914. He was a gold miner. His death certificate says he was in a Red Cross Hospital when he died. Family legend says he died in a landslide. In 1910 federal census he lived in Victor with wife named Edith. Her parents lived next door and named James George.
After researching the George family I found a Quincy George who died on June 14, 1916 in Victor from a landslide in a mine. Mining accidents during this period and names of the persons who died should be recorded but I don't know where to find this information.
