NORWOOD - Mitchel HELLE, of Norwood, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at his home in Norwood at age 55.
Mitche HELLE, the son of Fred and Violet (ECKHART) HELLE, was born on May 16, 1947, at Chicago, Ill., where he spent his childhood years, graduated from Lane Tech High School, and grew to adulthood. He continued to pursue his education by attending college.
On Aug. 7, 1971, Mitchel was united in marriage with Marsha SATTERFIELD at St. Petersburg, Fla. Mitchel and Marsha had the privilege of sharing 31 years of marriage this year in August.
During their years together, Mitchel and Marsha relocated many times with Mitchel's job. Then in 1996 they moved to Norwood, Colo., where they made their home until the time of Mitchel's death.
He was employed as the supervisor of Clark's Market in Norwood.
Mitchel's family was his main focus and life. His grandchildren were the love of his life. He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football. Memories of Mitchel will always be a part of all those who loved him. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving family members who were honored to share Mitchel's life include his wife, Marsha HELLE, of the family home in Norwood; one son, Mitchel HELLE II and wife Tami, of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Jennifer and husband Max ANDRADE, all of Norwood; and three wonderful grandchildren: Zachary Lennon HELLE, age 6; Jonathan Mateo ANDRADE, age 5; and Cassondra Rose ANDRADE, age 3.
Other family survivors include two brothers: Fred HELLE and wife Rose, of Lutz, Fla.; and Noel HELLE and wife Beth, of Tampa, Fla.; and one sister, Vickie and husband Rich LINDEN, of Magnolia, Texas.
Mitchel was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service in celebration of Mitchel's life will be officiated by Rev. Jimmy Carter Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Norwood Southern Baptist Church. Cremation will precede the service, with the service concluding at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Norwood Volunteer Ambulance, In Memory of Mitchel HELLE, P.O. Box 277, Norwood, CO 81423 or St. Mary's Hospital, Volunteer Program, In Memory of Mitchel HELLE, 2635 N. 7th St., Grand Junction, CO 81501.
Arrangements are being handled under the direction of the Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory of Montrose, (970) 249-2121.
