Loving Mother
MONTROSE - Juanita M. Salaz, age 72, of Las Vegas and formerly of Montrose, died on Saturday, June 3, 2000 in a Las Vegas hospital after a long illness.
Juanita M. Salaz was born on May 13, 1928 in Saguache, Colo. to Joe and Celia Salaz. She attended school and grew to adulthood in Montrose, living here for over 50 years.
She worked in the dry cleaning industry for some time and was a homemaker and loving mother.
She was a resident of Las Vegas for the last 22 years, where she was a member of the Las Vegas Congregation of Jehovah's Witness.
Junita is survived by a daughter, Carol Martin of Santa Clara, Calif.
Other family survivors include two brothers: Jimmie Salaz of Montrose; Sam Salaz of Rifle; seven sisters: Sarah Herrera and Celia Ann Salaz, both of Las Vegas; Betty Quintana of Littleton; Linda Shannon, Shirley Sanchez, Peggy Barella and Cathy Salaz all of Denver.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Terry Lucero and John Cisneros; two brothers: Joe P. Salaz and Fred Salaz; and a sister, Mickey Trujillo.
Graveside services in memory and to honor Juanita's life be held on Friday, June 23, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Valley Lawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Montrose Funeral Home.
