The second marriage of Jeremiah Groves and Nancy Barnett produced two sons: Jesse (b.1871 in MO, d. 1928 in Pueblo, CO), and John Lawrence (b.1877 in MO, d. 1935 in Pueblo, CO). Jesse married and divorced in Pueblo, CO.

John Lawrence Groves married Ethel Abbie Beeler (b. 1877 KS, d. 1969 CA). John and Ethel had 7 children: Ethel Grace, Gladys Pearl, Raymond Lawernce, Vernard Milburn, Lyle, Glen Duane, and Dorothy Kate.

Ethel Abbie Beeler was the daughter of John Abraham Beeler(b.1849 OH, d. 1927 Pueblo, CO) and Kate Chapin (b. 1857 OH, d. 1933 Pueblo, CO). John and Kate moved with their children to Pueblo, CO from Smith Co., Kansas in 1889. John and Kate had 7 children: Ethel Abbie, Edna Lillian, John Bertrum, Viola Pearl, Edward, Vernard Milburn, and Raymond Lamar.
