I am also new to genealogy. My grandfather's name was James Trezona. He was a miner. We were told he came from Wales to work in the silver mines in Aspen, Colorado. That would have been some time around 1889. He married my grandmother, Dilla Ruth Lewis about then. They had two boys. My father Lewis Rodda Trezona, born 1890 was the older, Guy Diltz Trezona was born in 1892. Except for the marriage records, we can't find any trace of grandfather James or his family.

Audrey,
My father (Donald, son of Guy Diltz)informs me that you are his cousin. James was one of 10 siblings (9 brother, 1 sister)all from Camborne, England. A trip to Ely, MN yielded a lot of info on the Trezona's. I stopped at the Trezona House, a mansion overlooking Trezona Lake and Trezona State Historic Trail, all named after Charles Trezona (brother of James). Charles was a former Mine boss and Mayor. The Trezona brothers were considered the foremost authorities on deep mining at one time. The Trezona house had been a bed and breakfast but the new owner (Freeman) was converting it to a home when I stopped. He was very interested in the Trezona geneology and was pleased to meet me. He provided me with a large stack of pictures, newspaper articles, and other materials regarding the Trezona family. Most of the stuff pertains to Charles but there is some information on James. I'd be happy to send it to you. Call me at 563-532-9015 and give me your address and I'll send it out.

He is living with family in Michigan in 1930 where his mother was from. His father died in 1923 in Minnesota, Alexander Trezona. Does anyone know what happened to Allen? He was my family's neighbor in St Paul MN and I have childhood photos of him and his mother.

Allen Trezona is/was my grandfather. After his mother and then his father died he was raised by family in Copper Harbor Michigan. He married Joan Jenkins and had 4 children. He dies at the age of 46 of heart disease. His children are Allan, Robert, Dennis and Diane. Allan is my father. I have just started doing geneology and was easy to finf that information. If you know anything I could pass on to the family that would be great.
