Looking for information on my great-great grandfather who moved to Aspen, CO in 1870's to 1880's and died there.
He is buried in the Ute Cemetery. Have no other information about him after leaving family behind in Arkansas, except that he came to AR from PA.

Rial, Riall, Royall, Ryall, Ryal

I grew up near Helena, Arkansas. My Grandfather grew up near Tupelo Mississippi. I have been researching the Rial family for about 10 years. I am still unable to get past 3 generations. I do have loads of information collected over the years from census, birth, death, and perhaps you fit into my family tree. Let me know the name and we will see if I can help. If not, there is always the chance that I will stumble on it tomorrow.

I'm new to all this so I missed your response to my query on May 13, 1998. My cousin told me about it this week. Took forever to find the site I had posted it in! Thanks for responding. I grew up in McGehee, Arkansas. My great-great-grandfather's name is Samuel Adam Rial. He came to Arkansas from Pennsylvania. I do not know a lot about him except that he was born in 1837 and had two brothers, Henry & John. He married Mary Catherine Larkin around 1861 and they had four children that I am aware of: William, James Alvin, Samuel Percy and Mary Catherine (Molly). Samuel Adam Rial left his family in Arkansas in 1879 and moved to Colorado & died in Aspen, Colorado.

Does any of this connect with your family?

In you Rial/Ryalls, do you have anything on a family including a Jim, Nicholas, Bessie, Catherine, and Ellen. I understand that they lived in upper NY, Lewiston(1830/40's) Jim had two daughters Kate and Fanny. Bessie had a daughter Mary who married ? Dorr, and two sons James and Thomas (they lived in Milwaukee) (her married name is not known).

Catherine (my gggrandmother) married Michael Hamilton Foley. We're still trying to track her family and his parents and any other relatives.

If you have any info on this branch of Rial/Ryalls, we'd be very happy to hear from you. Thanks!

Do you have any information regarding Sarah Rial, listed head of household in the 1810 Federal census for Breckinridge Co, Ky?
She is listed just under Pleasant Fentress, listed just under Valentine Fentress (M. Sarah E Hogg) orig from Albemarle Co Va.

Thanks

My gr.gr.great grandmother was Catherine Rial (spelling). She was married to the Hon. Michael Hamilton Foley. She was born May 26 1819, Colonmel, Tipperary, Ireland, and died July 22, 1890 in Parry Sound, Ontario. the following info was shown in a family letter "Kate says that her mother's family lived in Lewiston, N.Y. She remembers Uncles Jim and Nicholas and Aunt Bessie who married an Englishman and lived in Milwaukee. Aunt Bessie had a very beautiful daughter Mary whose husband was named Dorr, and two sons James and Thomas. Another sister her Aunt Ellen Ryall was unmarried. Her uncle Jim had two daughters, Kate and Fanny."
Might this be the same as your family.

Sorry...the Peter Ryal family I know about lived and were born in Dutchess County NY in the 1750-6's, and moved further upstate NY in the 1810's. Can not be your family.
