Sorry, but I was unable to locate any
CARLIN in the
Fort Morgan area. I checked city directories from 1965 to 1985, high school annuals, and the service organization rosters available and there were no Carlins listed as ever having lived here during that time. It is possible that they were on a Rural
Route. The directory for local RR boxes was dropped some time ago but I did check them from the mid 1960’s with no luck.
I’d suggest that you might contact the
Fort Morgan Museum at
http://www.ftmorganmus.org . If you would rather call or write, that information is on the opening page. Click on the
Bloedorn Research Center for detailed information on resources, assistance, etc. This is as close as we currently are to having a local historical or genealogy society.
For Western Cherokee research, I suggest that you begin with
http://www.comanchelodge.com/cherokee-enrollment.html or
http://www.aboutcherokee.com/enroll.html or go to Cyndislist.com. Researching Indian genealogies is a whole different ballgame, but if they were full Cherokee that should make it a little easier.
I’m sorry that I was unable to help further.
