My Great Aunt , MAY TREES, was living in Montrose in 1950. She was married to HOMER TREES who was a gold miner at Cripple Creek Colo. before his death. The family says that May was destitute after the fortune they made in Gold mining dissapeared. I would like to know if there is an inventory of the Cedar Cemetary as she may be buried there. I do not know the date of her death but I believe she died in Montrose, Montrose County. I am looking for her date of death and location of burial.

Went to the Montrose County Library today to see what I could find on your relative. Found her name in the Cedar Cemetery Index and from there found a death notice had been printed for her.

Cedar Cemetery Index:
Margaret May Trees
14 Jan 1878--26 Dec 1950
Section I, Block 19, Lot 6, NE 1/4

Montrose Daily Press, Wed Dec 27, 1950 pg 6 column6:
"Margaret May Trees, Resident of City 10 Years, Succumbs--Mrs. Margaret May Trees, 72, a resident of Montrose since 1940, died Friday in Montrose Memorial hospital where she had been admitted 12 hours earlier.

Her residence was at 505 North Sixth street. She was the widow of Homer Trees, whom she married in Cripple Creek in 1899. There are no children.

The only known survivor is a sister, Mrs. Faye Randlemon, of San Diego, Calif., who is en route to Montrose to make funeral arrangements. Ormsbee mortuary is is charge."

Thank you so much for the actual photo of the headstone. I have registered with findagrave and plan to contribute some photos that I have as well. What a wonderful service. l
