I found the marriage certificate for Lester Rash and Virginia Kness at https://www.familysearch.org. It says they married 7 Jul 1943 in Stockton, San Joaquin, California. He moved to Wenatchee, WA, in 1958, and died there in 1993.

She is buried in Fort Logan.

If you can find an obit I would appreciate it.
It is difficult to make someone give you what they say they do not have. I would think that with the case being that old, it would have been transfered to the Archives.
You might consider rechecking and making sure the county clerk gave you the correct case file number.
Also, did they say they did not have it there or could it be stored off-site w/ other files?
Good Hunting

Also? What are the numbers you have

Hi Everyone,

I desperately need some help or some help from someone who knows how to deal with the Colorado State Archives. I am trying to locate a case file of a relative from 1923. Now I have spoken to the County Court and they gave me a file number and names for the case, but when I went to the State Archives they said they didn't have it, but the County Court swears they do. Can someone help me? I'd appreciate everything.

Thanks,

Matthew

Re: Free Thomas, Olive Lyon, Jessie Hogan & descendants

EXCELLENT -- thank you so much, Dorothy! This branch of my Kirkendall kin has been very challenging -- thanks to you I now have Free Thomas' birth and death dates, and burial location for him and his mother. I guess the old family information was correct after all, if very non-specific.

I do not recognize Emma Ellmaker Beaumister's name. I found her in the 1880 census, at Spencer Creek, daughter of Byron and Martha Ellmaker. Byron was a blacksmith, born in Pennsylvania (or possibly Iowa - the censuses are not consistent on this). I find her listed in the 1900 census, Elmira, living near a brother Enos Ellmaker. She is listed as "d" (divorced), 3 children born, all still living, but I only see two sons living with her. I find her listed in the 1910 census at Zumwalt, with the two sons. Her son Herman, age 26, is shown as widowed. She indicated she was the mother of 3 children, all still living. After I found the second wife of Free Thomas (see below) I don't see any family relationship with the Beaumisters -- Emma's birth location and parental profile is different from Caroline K. Thomas. The only remaining possibility being some relationship with the deceased young wife of Herman, but I can't think what it could have been.*

* Caroline K. Coyle/Thomas was born in Pennsylvania 1854. Byron Ellmaker was born there abt. 1841 -- but I found the Ellmakers in 1860 at Richardson, Lane Co., and Caroline was not from this family.

Free Thomas was previously married to a Jenny and had at least 2 children with her, back in Nebraska and Colorado. I found Free Thomas in the 1910 census, married to Caroline K. Thomas for 7 years, with 3 stepchildren. I found the widowed Mrs. Thomas in the 1920 census living at Portland. She was first married to a Coyle, apparently in the early 1880s. I found her widowed in the 1900 census in Denver, with 4 children. The first two were born in Wyoming and the last two in Colorado. The deceased Mr. Coyle was born in Canada.

I really appreciate your help -- if you turn up anything further, please let me know, and thank you. Further genealogy and some images are on my web site:

www.landofthebuckeye.net

Don Boyd

Hello, Your Free Thomas (Jr.) & his mother Olive Lyon are buried in the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery, Eugene, OR, in unmarked graves. Thanks to your post, I now know of their connection to each other.

According to the available records, Olive was born 1838, died in Eugene, OR 5 Jan 1911. Her son Free made the burial arrangements.

Free Thomas was born 4 Jul 1854, and died 30 Dec 1916 in Eugene. He was an architect; burial arrangements were made by Mrs. C. K. Thomas; he was married.

Would you know of a connection to Emma Alice Ellmaker Beaumister (1861-1919)? She is buried in the same group of graves, purchased by Free Thomas.

This is all I know. I hope this helps.

Sincerely, Dorothy Brandner, Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Assoc.

Sgt. Daniel Webster Kline, Civil War Soldier
I recently came across research on Rootsweb regarding Sgt Daniel Webster Kline, 1844 - 1938. I am gathering information on Sergeant Kline and am searching for existing descendants to help me with my search.

This Civil War soldier is one of many I am working on. The purpose of my research is to make an accounting on their contributions and sacrifices they made during Civil War and here in Colorado where they have their final resting place.

I am the grave registration officer for the Centennial Camp 100, SUVCW in Denver, CO. Sgt Kline is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Jefferson Co., CO. Recent cemetery rules have changed and are interfering with a Congressional edict. These new rules have made inquiry requirements to have permission from a living relative to obtain grave site locations. If this soldier does not have a grave marker, it then becomes my duty to get a miltary marker from the Veterans Administration free of charge. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards.

Craig Ayler
Grave Registration Officer
Centennial Camp 100, SUVCW
P.O.
Hi all. I've got a land claim location from the late 1800s in Jefferson county, but I have no idea how to find it. The location given is 3/south, 69/west. What does that even mean? I know it's near Evergreen, but that could be a BIG area to look in. Any ideas how to pin this down? I'm going to CO in three days, and I'd love to find it.

Lori

Hi Judy, Thanks for checking the 1940 Jefferson County, Colorado census for Jack and Amanda Nelson. I was wondering if you might have access to the 1940 California census records?? I know that Amanda died there in 1957 in Alameda County, California and was listed as Amanda Johnson, so she evidently had remarried. I am thinking that Jack may have gone to California with his Mother as some of her children did end up there. I am also missing a son named Jessie Joseph Nelson. Appreciate any help. I did not find the Harvey you speak of. Maybe I can't see anymore, but?
You speak of a death index record? Is it a SSN index?
I do not know of many other sources to check. Other than the cemetery or requesting a death certificate?
Good Hunting

I have a death index record for Harvey H Schneider that says Jul 1976. I'd love to get an obit for him to see if it's my ancestor who was born in Wisconsin to Joseph Schneider and Bertha Schmidt. If anyone could help me out I'm willing to reimburse for expenses.

Thanks!

CT

According to the Denver library obit index and the Jefferson County Genelogical society there were no obit given to this couple.
If it were me?
I would contact Crown Hill Cemetery and see if they were buried there. It is close and large.
And Also, I would go to
www.intelius.com and search Leland and Beatrice.
There is a name associated w/ these two.
Hi Cousin, I've been researching the Ebenezer Walker McBride line for about 30 years. My line is Ebenezer Walker, John Cumberland, David Emerson, Vernon Edward, and myself. I have traced most of Ebenezer and Julia's children. What I am having a hard time doing is finding Ebenezer's parents and if he had any siblings. The McBride line is on Ancestry. It is under EWMcBride. I'd greatly appreciate any information that would fill in some of the many holes. If you would like to contact me directly, my email is jamesmcbride@embarqmail.com
Jim

Mr. McBride, I am a great great granddaughter of Ella McBride Rubey. Her son Jesse (not spelled Jessie as you have it) was my great grandfather. Jesse Rubey was twice mayor of Golden, Colorado and purchased a home for his mother there. His daughter Ruth (my grandmother) was born in Golden. I know very little about Ella but I do know something about her parents Julia and Ebenezer McBride and her sister Albina McBride Woods who also was a great great grandmother of mine. Jesse happened to be married to his first cousin Julia Stone Woods (Ruth Rubey's mother). I did know Jesse Rubey when I was very little. He was a wonderful man and I loved him very much. My mother Julia Dennis was Ruth's daughter. I assume you are my cousin and I send you my best wishes.

I am seeking any information on Jack (Possibly JOhn) Nelson born about 1916 in Arkansas. In 1930 he is in the household of Fred Johnson and wife, Judith, and Amanda Nelson, his mother. They were lliving in Guy, Jefferson County, Colorado in 1930. Fred Johnson was probably working in the coal mines there. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Shirley Roach King

you mentioned a tillman pressnell from Tazwell .Most of my relatives come from tazwell . So I am thinking were related. I was born in 1959 in Pontiac Michigan to Nancy Iris Pressnell (Jockwig), and Lee Roy Pressnell. Lee Roys parents were Henry Avery Pressnell and Maude Delia Pressnell ( Coffey ) .Henry and maude were both from Tazwell but met in Michigan where Henry worked for General Motors and Maude taught School. They lived in the same boarding house ,Thats how they met . They had 5 children that lived to adulthood ,4 or 5 died as children .

When you time to read, I copied this from their help board.
Specifically about living persons w/o their consent.

The following is what would like you to read. Your first message included her name and street number.
"
""""■Don't include identifiable information about living people without their direct consent, or, in the case of minors, the consent of their parent or guardian. This includes (but is not limited to) a person's full name, location or contact information."""""""

Do you have tips on message board etiquette?
ANSWER
Message boards are fantastic. They allow people from all corners of the world to come together in one location. For those interested in researching their family history this provides the opportunity to make contact with others who share your interests and may also have knowledge in subjects that may help your own search. Here's some information on making sure that your time in our chat rooms are both enjoyable and productive.
As a community member, please:

■For starters, simply treat others the way you want to be treated.
■Respond to the subject (and not the person) if you disagree with something.
■Share only your own thoughts, ideas and content.
On the other hand, please:

■Don't harass, abuse or threaten other members.
■Don't post any content that's vulgar, hateful, sexually explicit, illegal or otherwise offensive.
■Don't post commercial messages, fee-for-service postings, advertising or related links, etc.
■Don't include identifiable information about living people without their direct consent, or, in the case of minors, the consent of their parent or guardian. This includes (but is not limited to) a person's full name, location or contact information.
■Don't post anything you didn't personally create. That includes copyrighted material you're not authorized to distribute, email messages, notes in GEDCOMs, etc. Read our copyright policy if you have questions.
■Don't impersonate any individual, business or other entity. Don't pretend to be an employee or representative of Ancestry.com or anyone affiliated with the Ancestry.com family of companies, properties or affiliates.
■Don't post a "seeking information" (query) message with a non-query (data) menu classification selection.
For further information please read our Community Standards.
