I am looking for surviving family of Herman Schwartzkopf, Carls brother for the Korean War Project. They are requesting DNA from the surviving family. If and when a DNA match is made, they return the soldiers remains to the suviving family for proper burial.
Herman Schwartzkopf's family is just one of thousands of families being sought.

Heard about your online search about "Uncle" Quince Record from my son who is tracing our family roots. I remember him as a close family friend to the Kyde family in Denver. I was about 4 or 5. I remember playing with the bugle that he used to play Taps for Buffalo Bill. That bugle is now at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming. It is not always on display. Found our MCGINTY family in Araphahoe and Jefferson Counties in the 1880 and 1900 census. Our web page includes the 1880 and 1900 Federal Census for Arapahoe and Jefferson counties that list the MCGINTY and MCCABE families. One son Walter MCGINTY migrated to Montana by 1800.
Thomas MCGINTY b. IN, married Margaret BRENNAN in Dubuque Co. IA. In 1865 they moved to Colorado with their daughter Sarah (Sadie), they proceeded to have several other children, Thomas, William, John, Samuel, Edwin, Walter and Helen M. Edwin married Carry. Samuel married Ethel.
Jane MCGINTY b. IA, daughter of John McGinty, married Patrick MCCABE and they are listed in the 1880 census along with father-in-law John MCGINTY. Their two children, Sarah and Kate are listed as being born in IA.

Sorry, but I only know that Carl and Wilma Clutts "stood up" for my parents at their wedding in October 1951 in Herrin, Williamson County, Illinois. I don't believe they are related to me, and I don't know anymore about them. My curiosity has to do with how they knew my parents, and I know of no one else to ask.

Just wondering if this is the same Carl Clutts who was born in Williamson County, Illinois, and possibly married to a woman named Wilma. If so, Carl and Wilma "stood up" for my parents when they got married in 1951.

Louis was born 25 Mar 1894, came to US in 1910 from Austria. Married 1914. Parents are born ( I believe) Lablana Slovania ???

I have new informaiton that perhaps Dorris/Doris's last name was Martin and not Mason.
She may be living in the Denver Colorado area. I did contact one Doris Martin in Denver and she was not the one I was looking for.
I have a good friend trying to help me and he brought this new information of her actual last name to light. Her husband may have been John Martin who 8-19-1892 and died in L.A. California on July 1, 1947. Doris had two 1/2 brothers Merrill and Lauril.
Any informaiton anyone has to help me would be appreciated

Go to www.foothillsgenealogy.org and examine the pages containing the publications of the Foothills Genealogial Society-Clear Creek, Gilpin, Jefferson, and Park Cos., CO. I believe they have published a volume containing the minutes of the GAR Post over a period of time. If you are dealing with a particular surname, you can run the name through the search on the site and see if the name is found in publications/databases compiled by Foothills.

Wonderful! Thank you, Christy. I have a map of Crown Hill cemetery so with that location I think I can find it. I'll make a trip out there next week and get a photo of the headstone and send it to you. So many volunteers have helped me along the way with the same thing so it's nice to help out someone else this time.

Actually, I'm not sure if Carl is in my line or not. my FTM file lost a lot of data and I don't have a spouse attached to Nancy Black b. 20 Jul 1843 in Bedford, Tennessee, d. Anna, Illinois, so I'm not sure if I deleted her spouse b/c I found out that the didn't marry a RUNION, or if my FTM file just lost the data.
Can one of you tell me if the people we're talking about here roll up to Nancy?

I have new information for Ardilda Jane SHIELDS (DAVIS). I have a death date of 19 Mar 1916 in Denver, Arapahoe county, Colorado. I think she is buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery.

I think a daughter of her's is also buried there: Clara Emma DAVIS (KINKAID) (death around 1916)

According to the Colorado Marriage Index 1859-1939, Thelma G Kieler married William R Gouard in Clear Creek County, 8 Sept, 1938, license # 2287.
Note the spelling of William's last name.

WILLIAM GOWRAD , 84, of Lakewood died July 18. Mr. Gowrad was born in Denver on Sept. 8, 1912. He married Thelma Kieler, 1938. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He worked as a refrigeration salesman and was a member of Veterans of Foriegn Wars and Denver Order of the DeMolay. His wife survives him.

Notice the spelling of his last name in the published obit. This was published 25 July, 1997, Rocky Mountain News
