I'm looking for a lady named Savilla who died June 16, 1983 in Canon City. Her maiden name was Barnes & she was born in 1892. She married a James Elmer McIntosh, but appears they divorced, as he remarried several years prior to her death. She doesn't appear in the social security death index which makes me think she also remarried.

Hi! I am not sure that there would have been a city directory for Florence for that era. R. F. Polk & Co. was a large directory company that went around to a number of cities in the country and published directories. They would gather as much information as they could for residents and businesses, and then they would sell the directories. They published directories for Pueblo and Trinidad in about 1899. No other cities in Colorado were listed, and perhaps another company came in and published directories for other large towns in Colorado, namely Denver. I'm not sure what other towns in 1899 were large. Hopefully someone will be able to answer this. You may want to contact the library, either in Florence or for Fremont County, to see if such a directory exists for that era. Good luck!

Trying to track down an address for George E. Tyler and family in Florence, Colorado, and was hoping someone had a copy of, or access to, a city directory between 1895 and 1899. The family moved to Denver by the summer of 1900, but was in Florence in late summer of 1899. Not sure when they moved to Florence; it may have been before or after 1895. This is my great grandfather's family.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Rob

Hi. When I acquired Alice Beverly Southcotte Williamson's family photos this year, along with them were several photos of unnamed people, and a few Southcotte's. I was hoping some family might come along to claim them. Let me tell you what I have.
1) Georgia Jean (young girl of abt 9) & Pauline Southkott (infant) B&W studio photo taken at Warner Fulton studios, Colo Springs.
2) A studio photo of a little girl posing, Ren-nett Studio, Ft. Scott, KS, and it's labeled "Beverly's cousin, Georgia Jean" and it does look like a younger version of the young girl in the photo mentioned above.
3) A large cabinet photo of an older woman and 3 younger women labeled on back "J. V. Dabbs, photographer, Fine Crayon Portrait (but it's a photo), dealer in gold leaf frames and mouldings, ground floor studio, 207 Market St., Ft Scott, KS." Also on the back was written in pen "Jenny Hughes? or Grandma Southkotte & her girls." My ancestor Jenny didn't have 3 daughters, nor did she have 3 sisters. However, her mother did live briefly near Jenny's sister, Mary, in Manhattan, KS (3 hour drive). Did a Southcotte family member live in Ft Scott, KS?
Send me at email at AZ GRL 33 @ AOL.COM (put the letters and numbers all together).
Christa

Either I was thinking of another person in my tree or the data didn't copy over from my old software in the transfer.
I am in contact with a family friend of Bev's who also inherited some photos, of Bev and Roy, and I contacted her again and she's going to send them. She had forgotten about sending them. Since Bev and Roy had no children, and I've been spearheading our Hughes genealogy, I'm going to add the photos to my tree on ancestry.
Bev was my 2st cousin 2x removed but I never knew her. However, a cousin in Denver did know her but hadn't seen her in years. He was bummed to learn that she had passed.
Ed Hughes was my great granduncle. If you have any recollections of Bev, please let me know.
I'll keep your posts in my notes in case I run across a Southcotte descendant.
Christa

I am not personally related to the Southcottes. I inherited photo albums from Charles Prices' stepdaughter (Maggie Belle Loesch)who died in 2005 at age 100. I knew Beverly Williamson (Wesley's daughter adopted by Ed & Lillian Hughes) from visits to Boise, Idaho. She died in 2009.

The photos are of the Southcottes as adults. Most of them are at Missouri Heights near Carbondale around 1910's and 1920's.

I think I previously had a contact but lost it when I switched to Family Tree Maker 2012. I have the old data saved on my external hard drive and will dig that up this weekend to see if I can help you out. Are they all photos of Wesley's family when he was a child or are there some of Wesley as an adult? Are you related?
Thanks for reaching out.
Christa

Hi,

The State of Colorado does not publish death information, therefore, it doesn't appear in Ancestry or FamilySearch.

However, if you meet certain criteria, you can get a copy of his death certificate. The death certificate should show his parents' names if the Informant at his time of death knew that info. Also the burial location should be listed on the death certificate. You'll find the details at Colorado Center for Health & Environment, colorado.gov/cs/Satellite?c=Page&childpagename=CDP...

I looked at the Colorado Archives index and it doesn't appear that deaths in Fremont Co. have been moved to the archives at this time.

Do you have a copy of his obituary? That might include where he was buried and his parents too. Contact the Royal Gorge Regional Museum and History Center. Successful Searching!

IN, 43, had given birth to two children but only one alive in 1910.
Bruse E. Bramblet, sonlaw, b. IN, 24, coal miner, marr 2 yrs.
Francis F. Bramblet, dau, b. KS, 22.
Mary Blamblet, granddau, b. CO, 10/12ths.

I searched for Francis and Mary but didn't find them. They might have died in Indiana or Francis and Bruce divorced and Francis re-married before the 1920 Census.

Jacqueline was 16 and living with Bruce & Bertha in 1940 in Fort Collins. Maybe she married there. There is a Fort Collins volunteer who might be able to look up her marriage info at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volco.html
Scroll down to Larimer Co.

It's difficult to do research in Colorado since they don't publish information. The Larimer County Genealogical Society, lcgsco.org/county-indexes does do research. Go to their web site and click on Research Help on the left-hand side of screen.

I am looking for information on my 2nd Great Grandfather George Marion Harrison born about Aug 1858 in Missouri, and died possibly 4 Oct 1914 in Florence, Fremont, Colorado. If this is his death, he may be buried in the Union Cemetery in Florence, Fremont, Colorado. This George Harrison only has a small plaque marker which says George Harrison, 1856-1914, Florence Mortuary. Some of his children were buried in this cemetery, and he was found on a Florence, Fremont, Colorado Census. I have not found anything further on his death, and am not sure this is him or his death date.

He was married to Mary Lizzie (Adkins), who married Lee Powell after George's death.

His children were:
Effie Lillian (Harrison) Clinkenbeard-Williamson
Alva Marion Harrison
Robert Colonel Harrison
Elizabeth A Harrison
Unknown
Pearl Almarinda (Harrison) Blankenship
Elmer D Harrison

I do not yet know who George's parents were.

I am working on my daughters fathers family tree for my daughter. Here is what I have:

Abraham Daniel Rutledge Sr. b. 1895 in Kansas d. 1981 in Washington
m. Julia Rex b. 1900 in Oklahoma d. 1966 Washington State

Abraham Daniel Rutledge Jr. b. 1948 in Washington
m. Betty Ann McKelvy b. 1954 in Washington

Earl Daniel Rutledge b. 1973 in Washington
engaged and no longer together with: Cathy Terese Grande-Homan b. 1980 in Illinois-me

Makayla Ann Rutledge b. 2004 in Washington-my daughter.

I am trying to trace Sr.'s parents. Also there is a rumor going around that either Abraham Sr. or Julia Rex are Osage Native American? If someone could help that would greatly be appreciated. I have seen the 1940 census and of course Jr is not in it.

Sr is listed in the 1910 census at the age of 16 in someones house that is not his parents. When I bring up the 1900 census I see it lists Ando and Martha as his parents. However when I talk to Jr. he does not remember any of the siblings listed there as his aunts and uncles. So I more than likely and right I just want to make sure.

I'm looking for a source of info about early settlers--names and places they lived. Know that the Rudds and Cozads were early and Cozads stayed--but would like to tknow about the Griffins, the Adams, the Betts', and other old-time families.
