Hi! Thanks so much for your efforts. I think his name originally was Martin, but in all census records and other documents as an adult he called himself Mart. (I have never seen a middle name or inital for him) I am just so curious to know where he was buried. I don't know if qualify for a copy of his death certificate under CO law, where I am not a direct relative, but I believe he is distant cousin.

Maybe I can at least send for his SSDI record, that may help a little bit. Even his SS is under Mart! You would think that would have been under Martin if that was his true legal name.

Thanks again!

Elise

Thank you for checking! I was aware of those two memorials on FindaGrave. Angus in the memorial you found is my g-g-grandfather Angus. However, I cannot verify whether the Caroline Davis is my g-g-grandmother. I don't have any information on her middle name. I suspect that the Caroline Phyllis Davis in the FindaGrave memorial is my g-g-grandmother, but am puzzled as to why she would be in a different cemetery. Anyway, thank you so much for you efforts!

I just got involved with my genealogy recently to help out my cousin. I just read your post and the name Lawrence Pracht in Camp Point, IL really caught my attention
I have a copy of the Husemann family that my grandmother gave me quite a few years ago, and it lists that Lawrence B. Pracht of Camp Point, IL was married to Elsie (Husemann) and they only had 2 sons, Roger L. and Marion E.

The Pracht and Husemann family trees really became intertwined when 2 Pracht brothers Lawrence and Charles, married sisters Elsie and Freda Husemann. I know this for a fact cause I remember as a child visiting the 3 of them in Camp Point, IL--Charles, my grandfather died before I was born. ‘Aunt Elsie’ ALWAYS had mints for us kids :)

So, my question is, if Lawrence B. Pracht of Camp Point, IL is your grandfather, are you child from Roger's or Marion's 2nd marriage?

Need obituary information for Caroline Davis

I believe that a Caroline Phyllis Davis, buried in Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs, is my g-g-grandmother, but am unable to verify that my g-g-grandmother's middle name was Phyllis. All I know is that her name was Caroline Davis, wife of Angus Davis, my g-g-grandfather. Caroline Phyllis Davis was buried in 1902, which was about the time I believe my g-g-grandmother died.

Angus Davis and some of the Davis children are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, but there is no listing for Caroline in Evergreen Cem.

If I can verify that Caroline Phyllis Davis, in Fairview Cem., is the wife of Angus Davis, buried in Evergreen Cem., my next mystery will be to figure out why she is buried separately from the rest of the family.

Can anyone help me with any obituary information on any Caroline Davis who died shortly after 1900? Thank you for your help!

Harry
I need help with finding a marriage between my Great-Grandparents. John Franklin Wilkinson and Ora Francis Skidmore in or around 1904 in El Paso County, Colorado Springs Colorado. Don't know why either one were there, if the were by themselves or with family.

John's family is from Homestead PA (census shows them there in 1900) and Ora's is from Ohio. They had two children (boys) born in El Paso County Colorado Springs Colorado, before heading to PA. Names are Harry O. Wilkinson and George Albert Wilkinson. Old family story goes on about how the two boys were playing in an ice house and got locked in, causing some serious damage. Not sure if this is true.

The PA census shows the family back in PA in 1910. They had to make a stop in Gary, Indiana for this is where my Grandmother was born in 1908-09. I am stuck on this side of my family any help would be great, Thank you!

Can anyone inform me if there are archives of El Paso land transactions/ deeds for the time period 1889-1891? And if they are available, where can they be found?

My great grandparents lived in Cripple Creek from 1891-1899; their first child was born May, 1891 in Colo. Springs. I am searching for evidence of their prior residence which is believed to be in ElPaso county or one of the counties to the southeast.

Any advice would be appreciated. my email address is andybrandon33@hotmail.com

Thanks, Andy

Is there a way to find out if there was a divorce filed in El Paso County in the early 1980's? Is there anyone who would look that up for me? I am not sure what the maiden name of the Bride is but the name of the Groom was Wilson.
Please contact me at Agertsch@msn.com
Thanks a bunch,
Arlene Adams-Gertsch
