DONOVAN, THOMAS - came to CO in 1859. He crossed the plains to Denver with an ox team in 1863. He was born in Limerick Co, Ireland in 1834. He died in Edgewater in March 27, 1917. He built the old Emmet House on Blake St in Denver in the 60's and managed the place for many years. He was survived by three daughters - Mrs Mary A Libby of Leadville, Mrs J.E. Brown of Denver and Mrs Charles Estes of Delta. He also is survived by a son Patrick of Denver. He went to Leadville in 1885 to try some mining. His wife Margaret Bond Donovan died and he went to Missouri where he resided until January 1917 when he returned to Edgewater and lived there until his death. He was buried at the Cory Cemetery in Delta on 29 March, 1917.
