Actually I got the information from Ancestry World Tree and all they gave me was a range of dates with no specifics. Looking at my printouts, I did notice that he died in England. I will make the change.

My husbands great great grandfather is Edward John Stephens who married Matilda Skewes Stephens Trenberth who had my husbands grandfather Howard Edward Stephens. What kind of information do you have for Edward? I have hit a huge brick wall. I am trying to find out how he got here from England (which boat/port). Do you have any of that information? I would love to work with you. Thank you.

Heidi Stephens

Albert Ford, Rhoda Mary Streeter Ford, Eli Sumner Streeter

Looking for information such as death dates etc on Albert Ford - 1900 census - living on Ivas Street in Georgetown, Clear Creek, Colorado listed as silver miner. Living in household were his partners: Brizilai Nicholson 63 William H Sheets 59 Isaac Gidney 54 Henry Emanuel 57.

Rhoda Mary Streeter Ford was Albert's mother. She was last listed in 1880 Census living with Albert Ford and her brother Eli Sumner Streeter in Georgetown, Clear Creek, Colorado. A death date of 2/14/1885 appears on one on-line tree but no death location.

Eli Sumner Streeter was last listed in 1880 census working as a Silver Miner and living with nephew Albert Ford and sister Rhoda Mary Streeter Ford. He was born abt 1815 so probably died 1880 - 1900.

Did not find Albert Ford or Eli Streeter listed in 1885 Colorado Census however it appears Albert Ford was still in Georgetown in 1900.

I have lots of information on them prior to their arrival in Colorado that I can share.

Thanks,
Larry Isberg
isberg48@yahoo.com

I have found that Samuel served about 2 years as a member of Company D, 4th Iowa Cavalry. He died 17 July 1909 in Georgetown, and was buried in Alvarado Masonic cemetery at Georgetown. While many records use the spelling WILLIFORD, his pension and headstone use the spelling WILLEFORD.

Samuel was survived by his widow, Sarah A. BAILEY WILLEFORD, as she applied for a widow's pension on 31 July 1909. I do not yet know what became of her, and would appreciate any information concerning her. Thank you.

Robert was ‘Elder’ and ‘Deacon’ and president of the Board of Trustees of Idaho Springs, 2 Jun 1873. His son-in-law David Montague was then clerk....served as mayor. He lived with his wife and two sons on Soda Hill east of the present-day location of Bridal Veil Falls.
Hi Perri,
My connection is that Annie Coughlin married Joseph Sopp in 1898 but I don't have any more info. I did some research through the Foothills organisation and so there may be more to find.
I'll have a look again. Annie had 6 sisters and 4 brothers so did your family keep in touch with others who married whether brother Coughlins or sisters who married the others named in the subject line above?
Best Wishes

His wife Marguarita was from there for sure. I have a census in her hand writing she was in Colorado also. the Sopp-Truescott bakery is the mercantile that my Great grandfather made in like 18934?? the newspaper Archives there has alot about our family. i was going to get the microfish sent to a local library to research it more but I havne't had time. winter project i guess.
Hi i am related to the Sopps of Silver Plume. My great grandfather was John Sopp who made what is now know as the Sopp- Truscott Bakery there. I read some stuff from the newspaper archieves that i found interesting. The son's were all miners. And I believe a lot of them died of TB. i know they came from Webster Township in Michigan before then. I am not sure if we came from Germany like my family says or England because i was told Maureese Sopp was a cousin of my grandfather. My mom knew his son also. i know the great grandmother came from germany I have a census that says so. if you can get the micro fish from The silver plume newspaper it has a wealth of information about our family.
Looking for information on Mabel and/or Amelia GLASSON, daughters of James and Amelia GLASSON. James born in Cornwall about 1841, came to Silver Plume about 1880, died 1883, buried City Cemetery, Silver Plume. Amelia (Barrett?) Glasson born in Cornwall 1846, came to Silver Plume 1880, died 1923, buried City Cemetery, Silver Plume.

There is an on line listing of cemetery markers in the Silver Plume City Cemetery that includes Mabel and Amelia, “Children of James and Amelia Glasson” without any dates. I don’t know if the marker was erected before their deaths, if the children’s names are on the parents marker(s), and so on.

I believe that Mabel and Amelia are siblings to Grace GLASSON Sprague, James GLASSON, William T. GLASSON, John C. GLASSON and Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) GLASSON.

Any information appreciated.
Don't know if you got a response on this question, so thought I would put in what I know about this. There are a number of pages that were transcribed incorrectly, or so it would appear. If you go back and check the transcription again you will find that there was around 300 people in that jail, including my, 70+ years old, great grandparents and a number of babies, under a year old! Somehow I don't think that the jail was quite that large.Would appear that this was a slight error, but then you have to wonder who really was in jail.

George O'Connor & Addie Brokaw, Clear Creek

Does anybody have any information about this couple?

Five years ago Pat posted an inquiry for information on George O'Connor and wife, Addie Brokaw in Clear Creek, Colo. 1875. They later moved to Georgetown, then Leadville in 1878. There might be a link to my Addie Brokaw which could help both of us.

Is Pat still accessible and looking? Does Pat want to get intouch to see if we've a link to the same Addie?

-- Sue (alternative email: suemendenhall@hotmail.com)
