I looked at some of your other posting and seen this surnames: Murry, Crow, Bloyd, and Hess. Here is how these tie together. Solomon and Harriet Murry lived basicly in Meyer IL, across the Mississippi river from Canton,MO. That is where the Crows, Bloyds, and Hesses hang out. Solomon had ten Murry kids,among them were Lillie May, Elizabeth(Etta) Jane, William Edward, and James Henry( but he went by Earl). Gus Crow and his brother teamed up, Gus marrying Lillie May and Otho taking Etta Jane. Will married Nona Hess from Etterville, Mo. and Earl married Glodie Bloyd.

Trying to find out what became of Arthur Everett Bowe (s/o Daniel Elbert Bowe & Lucy Eveline Lord, b. 12 Oct 1847, OH d. unknown).

Arthur's first wife, Hannah Maria Henderson, died 31 Jul 1909 in Bemidji, Beltrami County, MN. Arthur and his daughter, Edith G. b. abt Jan 1888, moved to Cheyenne Wells before the 1910 census. Arthur married Katherine Unknown before 1920. As of the 1920 census, Arthur was still practicing law in Cheyenne Wells.

Any help tracking down Albert, his daughter and/or second wife would be greatly appreciated!

Tinsleys of Cheyenne County

My grandfather, Oliver Benjamin Fry, the great grandson of Nancy Tinsley (married to Woodson Gale Easley), homesteaded in Cheyenne County, Colorado in the early 1900s. What is noteworthy is that he did so two townships away from his 3rd cousin's (3rd times removed) homestead, Dewitt Clinton Tinsley. I wondered if they knew they were related or even knew one another (or Dewitt's descendants). I realize this is a longshot, but I'd be interested if any of the Tinsley kin with Cheyenne county connections have any info along these lines. I ask because in many cases people migrated to areas already pioneered by their relatives knowing they had kin that could help them get established. Please respond to this post if you have any info.

Per: Cheyenne County History, 1979: The Suchland family came to Cheyenne County in the winter of 1918-1919 from Nebraska.

The Woodward family apparently came to Cheyenne County from Kansas after 1920 and before 1930.

Thanks, we know that Elza died in 1916 from other family records. Thus the one you listed as Eliza appears to actually be Elza. Lida would be his daughter, known in the census as Edwards.

Marion Jeff appears to be his son, Jefferson Marion per our records. Did not even know he went out there. Last saw him in Iowa.

I have tracked Elza Sheley and his daughter, Lyda/Lida Edwards to Cheyenne County in the 1910 Census. After that, I have not been able to locate them. Elza and his wife, Sarah Clemons, who died bef. 1900, had 10 children in Powieshiek County, IA, and there is a lot to learn yet.

I was researching my family in Cheyenne county and came across this post. My grandmother, Anna Winifred Gerke, and my grandfather, Oliver Benjamin Fry, both homesteaded near Sadie Mousel and her family. I have a good 1928 photo of Sadie with a goat cart with Joe and Oroville in front of their house if you would like me to send it to you. I believe that my grandfather's family(WOODWARD) arrived in Cheyenne Wells around 1917 and am certain that my grandmother(SUCHLAND) graduated high school there in 1923. I do not know if they got married in Cheyenne Wells or Denver? I am looking for records of when they first arrived in Colorado...
