Need someone to find an obit for me. Mary Catherine (Lease) Grindle, was b. 10 May 1830, m. Frederick Grindle 13, March 1851 in Pickaway Co., OH, she d. 13 Nov. 1914 in Flagler, Kit Carson COCO, which is Cheyenne Co. She was said to be living with her daughter Angeline Miller at the time of her death. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

I think that Mary Catherine ( Lease) Grindle was my great grandmother who married Frederick Grindle. . Her mother was Phoebe Lease. My aunt told me that Mary C . L. Grindle went to Colo with her dau , but I don't remember what her name was. She is buried in the Flagler Cem.
My grand mother was Mary Lucinda Grindle, b Mar 16, 1871 , I think at Gorin, Mo. d Nov 28,1952 Keosauqua, Ia. She was 1st m to George Alonzo Speer, 4 children, they div. she m John Park I think around 1916.
My mother was Blanche Edith Speer who m Clifford James Spaulding.

Mary (Mollie) ( my grandmother)
and I thought there was one named Martha ,because in 1938 my parents and I visited them in Tulsa , Okla. M.J.Feazel they had a dau.

Margaret Parker had a dau Irene Foley. lives in Calif her dau is Virginia.
Annie Miller had dau ( who gave me this info) Beryl Miller Florea her dau Margaret E. Rolston, lived in Kirksville, Mo.
she had a dau b 1935 and son b 1939.
Clara Douglas had son Robert Northcut. When I was young Clara was living in Des Moines, Ia where we Lived. Later she was in Vancouver.

I have in my notes a letter that Flo wrote to my mother saying she was b Apr 21, 1874 and raised in Fairmont, Clark co, Mo. Kahoka is the co seat. and asked my mother to get some info so she could get her Social Securoty.

Mary Catherine Lease was born in Virginia May 16 1830. She married Frederick Grindle March 13 1851 in Pickaway County, Ohio. She had brothers William Barney born in Virginia April 10 1827; John Lambert Lease b. June 25 1828 in Wheeling Ohio W. Va d. Dec 28 1918 Gorham Scotland Co. MO, m. Euphuma Luretta Byers 3-13-8151 Cleaveland OH; Robert Andrew Lease b. 3-24-1832; sisters, Phebe Lease b. Va. Jan 27 1834; Jane b. Va. April 8 1836; Sarah Jane b. April 26 1836 d. about 1861 in Putnam co. Ohio at age 25; m. Benjamine F Irwin June 26 1854. had son Benjamin b. Nov 30 1821 in Fairfield Co. OH. He died 5-22-1902 in same at 80 years of age; Lydia Lease b. in VA July 22 1838 m William Buck April 3 1856 in Putname co. Oh.; brother, Charles William Lease b. VA Oct 19 1840.
Her father was Andrew Lease, b. Wheeling OH county, VA May 26 1800. He died 18 May 1853 in OH at 52 years of age. In census of 1850, Andrew was listed as head of household in Pickaway co. OH. I believe that Andrew Lease' father was William Lease who was born abt 1776 in VA and died aft 1860 in OH. He married unknown abt 1795( think her last name was Lambert, but no proof. She died abt 1810. He married 2 Elizabeth Blue aft 1810, daughte rof Michael Blue and Mary Herriott. Elizabeth was born July 30 1778 in Hampshire co. VA and died Nov 24 1835 in Hampshrie co. VA. She and William Lease (Leese) did not have children of their own. One of Andrew's brothers was my gg grndf. It is wise to do your homework and check out this information for yourself. William Leese's father was Andrew Leese (spelled many different ways, Lysse, Leese, Lees, Leece) b. 1744. He died abt May 1816 at home in Pattersons Creek Hampshire co. VA at approx 71 yrs of age. He married Catherina Wolfe Feb 10 1767 in First German Reformed Church in Frederick co. Maryland. I believe that Catherina was German and that Andrew's background was Ulster-Scot from the Isle of Man. I have not found proof of this but this is what I was always told as a child. If you ever find more information please pass it on to me. Hope this helps you.

Just for clarification - the town of Flagler is in Kit Carson County, Colorado. It is not in Cheyenne County.

The town of Kit Carson is in Cheyenne County.

Confusing, I know. But may help your search.

Flagler is in the east side of Colorado, about 50 miles west of the town of Burlington, in Kit Carson county. It is about 75 miles from the Kansas state line. It is very small and has a small cemetery next to the town. If I get an opportunity, next time I go through that area, I will stop and see what I can find out for you.
