I am researching the last name Marquand - Henrietta was my great great grandmother - she lived in Clarksville Iowa I beleive because that is where my great grandfather was born. I know at one point in his life he lived in Longmont Co.

My great-great grandfather is Elias D. Marquand. He had a son (my great-grandfather), Elias D. Marquand Jr. born in Clarksville, Iowa. I have old newspapers from Longmont, CO. After compiling the information in the newpapers and existing information form my family, this is what I have. I have all 12 children and their birthdates for Elias and Mary Elizabeth. When Elias Jr. was born in 1856 they lived in Knox County, Ohio. Elias and Mary Elizabeth were then pioneer settlers of Butler County. Elias organized and named Butler County. Who is your great-grandfather? My great-father Elias Jr. came to Longmont, CO in 1907. He owned and operated the Isis theater with is son Ed. They sold it in 1925. The only information I have for Henrietta is that her name is Hariet S. and was born 1847 and died 1864. Is this your relative?

My greatgrandfather was W.E. Marquand, born 7Oct.1857 in Clarksville, Iowa. He married Buna Mae Owen; and he died 22Nov.1938 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. I wonder if he is related to your great-greatgrandfather, and I would appreciate any info you might have.

Cathy - so do you know who are the parents of you W.E. Marquand? I have a William E. Marquand born about 1858 in Iowa according to census records. I do not have a spouse for him. My Marquand's some are buried in Clarksville, Iowa which I took photo's of the grave sites this year. I know that my Henrietta Marquand married Miles B. Gilbert and they moved to Medicine Lodge Kansas according to census records - so maybe there is a connection. Do you have sibling names for your W.E. Marquand? Let me know.

LOCAL WOMAN DIES MONDAY--Resident of City for 33 years Called by Death
Mrs. Louise AUGUSTA COPELAND, for thirty-three years a resident of Longmont, passed away at her home 314 Emery Street shortly before noon today following a three months' illness.
The deceased, who had reached the advanced age of 85 years 3 months and 17 days of age, was born on May 30, 1849 in Ohio. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away November 13, 1917.
She leaves two sons, E.M. Copeland of Longmont; George H. of Lovell, Wyoming; a daughter Mrs. Lela Ballinger, Frederick; and two brothers. E.C. Marquand of Longmont and William MARQUAND of Medicine Bow, Kansas. Seven grandsons, five granddaughters and 15 great grand children survive.
Mrs. Copeland was a member of the Nazarene Church of Longmont.
The funeral arrangements are not yet complete and wil be announced later.
