I am looking for help and suggestions in getting more information regarding the family of Carlos H. and Carrie L. Brown who lived on Vigil Ave. in Las Animas City from about 1917 until their deaths sometime in the early 1930s.

Most of what I have is from their last three US census entries, the 1910 in Vinita City, OK, and the 1920 and 1930 ones in Las Animas City.

The had five daughters and one son. The second oldest, my great-grandmother Grace, married before they left Missouri in 1904. The eldest, Emma, married Charles Mills in about 1906, probably in Oklahoma. They are both shown living with Carlos and Carrie in 1910. In the 1920 census their 11 y/o daughter, Loretta is living with her grandparents, but there is no sign of the parents. Another daughter, Goldie V. Courtney is also living with her parents in 1910 as a 19 y/o widow with a 2 y/o daughter Mosetta V. In 1920 only Mosetta is living with her grandparents. The youngest daughter, Jimmie Elnora Keogh, is also living with her parents in 1920. Like her older sister in 1910, she is also widowed, 26 y/o with a 2 y/o daughter, Catherine Keogh. The son, William Fayette Brown, was last seen at 11 y/o in their 1910 census entries, living in Vinita, OK.

In the 1930 census, none of the Carlos and Carrie's children or grandchildren are living at home with them, however, they now have a great-granddaughter and great-grandson at home. Jimmie D. Wells, age 2, and Carl A. Wells, age 1, both born in Colorado, presumably in Las Animas.

(And I'll bet you thought that children returning to the nest was a 21st century problem. :-)

If anyone has any additional information about any of the members of this family, or suggestions on where I might look to find some, I would appreciate your help.
