Correction: Colorado death certificates are not available to just ANYONE. They are available to relatives, and you have to prove how you are related. I submit vital records, census records, etc. that show my relationship to the person, often with a pedigree chart from me to the person to help the office visualize the relationship. They have sent me death certs for people only related by marriage, or even children of people related by marriage, so the relationship doesn't have to be close.
