I had recently inquired about the Surname Bardsley. Many people inquired to my giving more information in order to see if they could help.

Family is interested in unsolved mystery or at least any information that might be had.

Grandfather Alex Lucero was hit on the head with a bottle sometime in 1944, int the city of Alamosa. The family rembembers that he lived for 11 days before passing. It is said the sidewalk was stained with blood for years after.

Does anyone here know anything about this? I've tried online newspaper searches but have found nothing.

Grandfather was born 1902 in Alamosa.

Regards,
Dave

Hello, I am doing some research on my family, I was wondering if any one remembers Paul and Rita Klaumann? My father James Klaumann attended school in Hooper and had a brother Bernard that was a year older than him. Bernard was put in a State home when he was 12 I think. The home burned down and all records were lost. If anyone knows anything I would appreciate it very much.

I am looking for Harry Henry Kaddatz burial informaion. He may be buried in Alamosa Cemetery near his in-laws Edward Elze.

Wife's name is Lydia Fredericka (Elze) Kaddatz, died 9 Dec. 1946 in Alamosa, Colorado. Children of Harry Henry Kaddatz are William Peter (Bill) Kaddatz and Rose Emilie (Kaddatz) Gibson Puschel.

I believe in the U.S. Federal Census' he went by Henry Kaddatz. Any help on what cemetery he is buried in would help me narrow down his date of death and help me to obtain an obituary.

Thanks,
Henny Elze
Hennye@comcast.net
I know he and his nine siblings were born in Alamosa, CO and it is believed that his parents Augestine Ruybal and Ernesta "Laura" Duran were also born in Colorado. It is suspected that Augestine had a brother named Samuel Ruybal but this has not been confirmed. He was born between 1902 and 1908. I believe my grandmother was born around 1915. If anyone out there has any information please contact me. As you can see this is in the very early stages so any info would be helpful.

My father was adopted & never talked about his birth mother, but I hear she did keep in touch with his adopted parents, James & Rosetta “Sadie” Chapman of Conejos County.

My father James was born on 5 Oct 1927, birth name Bert Eugene Johnson, probably in Alamosa County. Family story says his mother was unable to take care of him. The paper is dated April 1929, but it says it was done in open court on 1 June 1929 by Judge James Hyndman & a complete copy of this order is on file in this office.

Does anyone have any suggestion of where I can look for his birth parents? Any help would be appreciated.

Dennis

Is anyone familiar with this family?

Max Sanchez, born in New Mexico. We believe was married and had children with a Mary (Trujillo) of Colorado. It looks like they spent some time in Alamosa, Colorado.
Census for 1920 lists Mary at age 35 as a widow with 4 children living in Alamosa, Colorado.
The children listed were:
George age 12; Fred age 9; John age 7; and Amelia age 4. Amelia was also known as Molly. All born in Colorado.

There has been some speculation in the family of Max Sanchez dying in WWI. Can't prove it yet.
I did find a military registration card for a Max Sanchez living in Albuquerque in 1918. His age fits plus the nearest relative, Carmel is a family name.
But where is his wife Mary and children?

Any help or insight on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Kathryn

On 1900 Carbondale, Illinois census, Margaret is shown in household with parents and the following siblings... James R Stephens b 1890, Newton b 1892 and Marcus b 1895. Cannot find parents in 1910 but Margaret is married 4 years to William Etherton and living in Costilla Co, Mosca, Colorado. In 1920, parents of Margaret are living beside her, William, and family. But siblings are missing. Margaret and William show up again in 1930 without parents.
ANY info would be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell me how McGinty, Colorado got it's name? I have been researching our McGinty lineage and have located ancestors in Arapahoe, Jefferson and Denver Counties but none in Alamosa. Maybe some of our ancestors may have moved there. I do have a William Cornelius McGinty who is unaccounted for after 1863 as well as siblings of his father John McGinty.

Our Family Heritage (kstoneberg, wORntLacy, users.freepages.rootsweb.com

Mr. Elze was a pioneer of Colorado having arrived in this state some years before his marriage in 1878 in Leadville, Colorado, to Lydia D. Weston, who has been his loving helpmate until death.
Francisco and Celsa Gutierrez Marriage Look Up

Hello,
I am searching for someone that would have Catholic Church marriage records access and would do a look up for me. The names I am searching for are Francisco and Celsa Gutierrez. I think they were married between 1890 and 1900 in Conejos or Alamosa county. They lived in or aroud Alamosa. I think, but am not sure, that Celsa's maiden name was Lujan. Francisco was born around 1864 in New Mexico and Celsa was born around 1875 in Colorado. Thank you.

Tonya
