Hello; There is a posting on Ancestry.com from 2001 listing a Mildred Leon Upton, born Jan 13, 1920 in Gap Oklahoma who married Bill Ford in Anadarko OK on 1 Nov 1934, and who had three children. The children are all listed as living in 2001, but are not identified. She died in Clovis OK on 28 Oct 1969. Given the similarities to your Mildred, I thought you might want to check her out. I found her in the 1930 census with siblings named Roy, Jene (Jim?), Marrie (Morrie?), Floyd and Willie (female). Her parents are listed in the Ancestry database as John William Upton and Una Eunice Kenner. If this sounds at all familiar, perhaps she was in California for a time but was buried in Oklahoma, and over time her descendants forgot that she died in California. It has been known to happen - people tend to assume you died where your grave is.
