DeLight COVERT
DeLight F. Covert, 88, of Lodi, died Aug. 17, of natural causes in a local hospital. She was born DeLight F. Swink on Dec. 17, 1914, in Dundy County, Neb.
Mrs. Covert lived in Lamar, Neb. until 1942, when she moved to Oroville and later to Stockton in 1942. She moved to Lodi in 1980. She married George F. Covert on Nov. 27, 1935, in Colorado.
She worked as a religious educator and a missionary. She was a volunteer at Stockton's Women's Shelter, a volunteer counselor and hotline operator at Lodi Center of Hope from 1980 to 1995.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and traveling cross country.
She is survived by her sons, George COVERT, of Sacramento, and Neal L. Covert, of Merced; daughter, Peggy Gilbert, of Lodi; sisters, Phyllis Buchanan, of Washington, and Jean Jessee, of Stockton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Covert; sisters, Mildred Swink, Lucille Smith and Donna Mann; and brothers, Fred and Junior Swink.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Hi Covenant Church, 8355 Arroyo Vista Drive, Sacramento, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Killdall of Ebenezer Congregational Church of Lodi and the Rev. Michael Gillett of Duluth, Minn., officiating. Interment will be private.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charity.

There will be no visitation.
