In 1861 land patents were recorded for David and Elizabeth KIRKPATRICK and Ezra ALLISON and Flora OLIVER. David and Elizabeth were both deceased. She died 25 May 1860 near Wheatland and Kempton's Crossing. When and where did he die? Who were Ezra ALLISON and Flora OLIVER? Elizabeth was previously married to Robert HENDERSON who died in 1839. Their son Vincent HENDERSON was in California in 1850. When did his brother William Wallace and sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann HENDERSON and the KIRKPATRICK's arrive? Marriage connections: HUMPHRIES, DUNN, EDGAR, SARGENT, BOGARD, PRICE, KEMPTON I have a lot more questions and some information, willing to share.

I have a collection of photos taken in the late 1800 at SANDERS and STINSON studios in Marysville.Yuba County. They were found in a trunk of our great Aunt Ella Moody who taught school in the Marysville/Sutter area. I also have a photo of the Presbyterian Sabath School of Marysville. I would love to match these folks up with their families.

National House and Arnold Family in Marysville in the 1850s

Hello,

I have been researching my 4th great grandparents, Josiah Arnold and Elizabeth Bliss. I'm planning to write a book about Elizabeth's amazing life. She, Josiah and their two sons, Orson Pratt and Joseph Smith Arnold are listed as "Tavern Keepers" in the United States 1850 "Placerville and Vicinity" Census. I've spent years trying to determine the name and specific location of the tavern and believe I have finally found it! :-)

Based on the California Historical Society Quarterly, vol 14, page 394: "The Beginnings of Marysville" by Earl Ramey:
"These hostelries had been established on Second, Third and 'D' streets... smaller hotels... the National House run by... Arnold and Scott.

So, I'm looking for any information, stories, photos, drawings, basically: anything relating to the Arnold family and/or the National House. I know that the family left Salt Lake for Marysville on 7 May 1850 and that Josiah died in Salt Lake 1 Sep 1859 so they could only have been in Marysville between 1850 and 1859.

I'm hoping to learn about Elizabeth's life in Marysville and also where she died and was buried. The rest of her family made it back to Salt Lake City and were buried together there.

I feel a strong pull to discover where Elizabeth died and where she is buried so that I can honor her life by marking the site with a tombstone. It makes me feel really sad at the prospect of her being alone and in a potentially unmarked grave.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Any help you can provide will be unendingly appreciated!!!

If you were not the best person to ask this of, would you please forward this message to anyone you feel may have additional photos, drawings, information and/or stories?

Thank you, again,
Kristin Rivers

TRAYNOR, John (Jack?) and Georgia

I'm trying to trace Jack W. and Georgia (Georgiana) GARDNER PRATT TRAYNOR. From my research I see that a John TRAYNOR died in Yuba 7 Aug 1947, and Georgia TRAYNOR died 27 Oct 1978 Yuba Sutter. Are these the same people that are on the Los Angeles 1930 Census, with Georgiana's daughter Delores PRATT? Also Jack/John was a Locksmith in 1930. I'm hoping that there is someone that is still around who might know of these people.
Thank you for taking time to read this...

I have purchased a death certificate for Kenneth Edward Beeman, he died 16 July 1993 and was born on 18 Feb 1906 according to the death certificate. It states his mothers maiden name as Sophia E Muddock who was born in California. I am doing a One Name Study for Muddock and only have 1 possible Muddock who is English who it could be. I think this may be a transcription error. I would obvioulsy like to check the birth records and other records for Kenneth Edward Beeman to see what it shows up. Any assitance would be grateful. I can send the certificate if it would help.
Thanks very much in advance
Regards Shaun, London, UK

The addresses seem to be wrong so I am trying to contact you with this method. I am really interested in talking with anyone that has ancestors from Roses Bar, TImbuctoo, Smartsville, Sucker Flat, Mooney Flat. I have ancestors from the area Smiths and Peardons but my reason for wanting to talk to descendants is that I am working on a pictorial history of the area and I need Photographs and or stories. Some people think they do not know much but when I speak to them they always know more then they think. So don't be shy, send me a message and I will get back to you.
I would like to do some research in Marysville next week and would like some info on places I can go to and search for records. I am researching my gg grandfather and family that lived there after 1880 and 1898. He died there sometime before 1898 but have no info on where except Marysville. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

BIRTH OR BAPTISM RECORD LOOKUP-FRANK (LAST NAME)

May 3rd, 2007 Thursday 10:00 p.m.

I am looking at the counties surrounding Butte County in case the children were born outside of Butte County.

Can somebody lookup birth & or baptism records for me please. I am looking for my grandmothers side of the family. The last name they were using on the 1880 Census for Oregon City in Butte County in CA was FRANK. On the 1st 10 or so pages of this census it says City Of Cherokee. My family is Portuguese so there is a possibility they are using the last name spelled FRANCK, FRANCISCO, FRANCISCA, FRANCA, MARTIN OR HENRIQUES. Or the last name spelling starting with FRA. HENRIQUES is the maiden name of the mother Mary. I was told that Portuguese people usually didn't use there birth names when they came to the U.S., that is why I have given a few differant spellings. The mother & fathers names are Martin & Mary both born in Portugal or The Azores.

Here are the childrens names.
Frank, Mary Born CA (Most Likely instead of MA) 1875
Frank, Frank (Yes they named one of there children Frank Frank) Born 1877
Manuel Born 1879 or 1880

There are possibly 4 other children that were born after the 1880 census. Josephine, Alice Rena & May/Mae and Martin. My grandmother Alice Rena Frank (Franck) married my grandfather Gus Foster Rowe approx. 1908.

I have been looking for my grandmothers side of the family for 14 months now with no luck. I am grasping at straws and loosing hope of ever finding them and would appreciate any help.

You can email me at tex61@bellsouth.net

THANK YOU VERY MUCH,
KIM ROWE

I am trying to find a birth certificate for Ethel May Fox born January 4, 1905. Her parents are Gilbert William and Frances Bridget Fox. She told family members she was born in Marysville, Yuba Co. When I wrote to the clerk's office, they stated that they never heard of Ethel. Ethel's grandmother, Wealthy Pierce, is listed on the 1900 census as residing in Parks Bar township which I understand no longer exists? What is the area formerly known as Parks Bar called now? It is possible I'm not looking in the right county for Ethel. Any help is appreciated.

I would appreciate any lookups of obit.,or birth records, of Presleys residing in Yuba Co. in l870's-l890's. My great-grandmother Rachel nee Flint Presley was b. l855. She may have been married to an Allen Presley b. IRE l848 who is buried in the Smartsville Fraternal Cemetary died Nov. 6,l895. Her son George J. Presley was b. Yuba Co. Dec. l884, dau. Lydia in l878,dau.Edna in l882. I do find an Allen and Hugh Presley on the Yuba. Co. Census for l870, but do not know if they are related. Later find both families in Rough and ready, Nev. Co. in l880, but know my grandfather was from Smartsville. Any info. or advice in finding much appreciated!

Trying to locate the where abouts of Fannie J. Farnham after the will of her late husband, Apollos, was probated in 1882. I know she inherited the GOLDERN EAGLE HOTEL/ SALOON, therefore she must be found in the Registry of Deeds. Also, being only about 30 years of age, she may have remarried. Do not believe that she and Apollos had issue. She may have returned to Maine where where she was born.
Thanks, Beverly Farnham Henry

Hello,

I am seeking a copy of my ancestor's death record. Her birth name was Janet McAuslan b. 11 Dec 1840 in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. She was married to John Allan, Henry Rackelbush, and Abraham (William) Tarode. She married Mr. Tarode a year before her death. She died 3 Aug 1890 in Marysville according to a letter written by her brother. Supposedly buried in Marysville Cemetery but haven't found her name in any transcription of the cemetery. Any ideas on how to get a quick cheap copy of this record?

I think she would be in her 40's to 50's. I remember her as a small child with very curley hair. She is a cousin and I am trying to collect family data on my Cain cousins. I have a 1993 address for her from Marysville in this county. If you know her will you pass this information to her. Her last known correspondence was that I know of was to her aunt, Joyce Cain Allen in Chariton, Iowa. If you can help me I would sincerely appreciate any information you can give me.
Geraldine and Pauline Hale were sisters who were born about 1932 in or near Springfield Missouri. Their parents were James Herbert and Anna Lorene Hale. In 1943, James Herbert Hale passed away. Anna Lorene remarried and moved to the Sutter--Yuba County, CA., area. Anna Lorene died about 1990 in that area. Geraldine and Pauline (one or both) may still be living in that area. The sisters had a brother, Robert Clifton Hale who lived in Shasta County, CA., when he passed away in 1972. I would like to know if Geraldine or Pauline are still living in that area. They are my aunts and I have not seen them since I was young. Please help me find them if you can. Would like to establish a connection between Nancy and my greatgreatgrandmother Angeline Adams Smith who was born in 1840 in Lincoln, Maine.
