Wow, my post was from many, many years ago and since then I have made contact with Bob Holmes in Marysville, CA. My aunt and uncle (Wally [deceased recently] and Twyla Yates) lived in Oroville, CA, not too far away from Marysville. My husband were in CA for a visit and Bob was actually able to come to Oroville to meet us and some of his distant cousins.

Janie, I seem to remember your name from long ago too when we were all researching our various Holmes lines. There was you, another cousin Linda Arnold (now deceased) and Bob/Robert and I think a couple others? Thank you so much for replying to my query from so long ago.
