Franklin B. Hough 1860 "A history of the state of
Lewis county in the state of
New York" page 296 indicates two mining companies The
Lewis county Mining Association and the
Lewis county Mining Co. sent some 50 men west for goldrush. At the
Lewis co. website Lowville news two of these men
Phillips and
Rice and possibly a third, returned to
Lewis county, married and then returned to Trinity, CA. Notice names in regard to Lewiston also, B. F. Lewis,
Phillips(I think), and Allen. Other possible miners John
