When Judge Chipman died in February of 1924 He still maintained his residence in Red Bluff, CA. His estate was represented by the law firm of Alexander McKean McCoy and Herbert S Gans. His executor was Leo Lewis McCoy. Does anyone happen to know what is done with these law firms files on their clients after they are both deceased? Are they placed with the Local court, Historical society, Museum etc. or do the families just destroy these things or toss them. Chipman was in the practice with an atty named Garter who became a judge. McCoy was in practice Gans until 1927 when Gans became a judge. McCoy was then partnered with Curtis Wetter until he became a judge. I have some questions about the estate of Chipman and would like more information. If anyone happens to have an obit for judge Norton Parker Chipman who died in San Francisco, 1 Feb 1924, and whose service was held at the Grace Cathedral there on about 4 Feb 1924, I would appreciate a copy. Thanks, Don Huffman
