Virgil A. Deaver
Services were held today at the Norton Mortuary for Virgil Austin Deaver, 83, who died Saturday at a Turlock hospital following a short illness. Rev. Jimmy Taylor of the Church of Christ was to officiate, burial was to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
A native of Texas, he moved to the Imperial Valley in 1928 and settled in the local area in 1942. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the World War I Barracks of Turlock and the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Leo Deaver of Turlock; a daughter Doris Fletcher of Santee; a Sister, Zula Payne of Turlock; a brother Dave Deaver of San Bruno; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
