Seeking information on descendants of John Murphy from
Quebec who came to Stanilaus County in the 1850's,
married Ellen or Ann (O'Callihan, possibly) and had four
children, Thomas, John, Nellie, and Mary. Son John
married Ida Covert and had a large family. Daughter Nellie
married Louis Hammett, born in Maryland. Connecting names
to her family are Warburton and McGinity. I am not certain
about Mary or Thomas. These people are my cousins.
John Murphy's sister Ellen and her husband William McGinn
came in the 1870's. Possible descendants would come
through two of their sons - William married Gay Spencer
and James married Minta Bloomer. Any information on
possible descendants will be most appreciated. Please
